nute burn or not?

I am on day day 85 since i started as seedlings. I am using flourecent tubes. I had serious nute burn problems earlier due to over use of Miracle grow. After flushing for my third time just an hour ago i am feeling better about the situation.

after adding a timer to my lights I changed it from 24/7 to 8/16 and just now on day 85 switched to 12/12. a week or so into 8/16 i began smelling a strong fragrance which is beyond words. awesome !!!!

One of the plants is not doing very well and although the other two have begun to grow very well considering they still have a minumum of four leaves each that our rusting and wilting.

I am very confused at this point whether or not i am dealing with nute burn still or the severe need for nutes and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or advice. pics below.

Do you mean you switched to 18/6 when you got a timer? or are you serious about 8/16?! Because if you switched to 8/16 it would stress it tremendously and possibly flower it. I'm pretty sure you mean 18/6 but I need some confirmation on that.

ok i am new to the lingo here in the forums. For the first two months approx. i had the lights on 24 hours a day. My father inlaw advised me that it would be a good thing.

Approx. a month ago i set the timer up so that it was light 16 hours and dark 8 hours. I have it set so that it is dark during the day because i figured it is warmest during the day and since the closet is closed off from the furnace i figured it would be best.

Today i decided since the aroma was so strong to go ahead and set the timer for 12/12 light. I am not sure if that is the right way to go but since the aroma is so strong i figured i might as well. Not to mention i figured that 85 days was pretty long into it and these plants where beyond saving any further. If i am wrong about this please tell me.

I have flushed these plants three times as of today. every two or three weeks since i realized that i was burning them with miracle grow. like i said. two of them recovered quite abit.

ok bro or gal,

i'm going to look at this... like if someone gave me these plants because they felt they screwed up... not to say you screwed up by long shot, just you need some help... and by helping you i learn more.

from what can see your actual grow setup is nice you should be producing buds by now, and in the process blowing you father in-laws mind.

you do not have nute burn, those plants have a nitrogen (N), phosphate(P), and potash(K) deficiency. And it is probably not because there isn’t any in the soil or rather that the PH of your water/soil is out of whack (I’ll attach a video that explains it better).

my first step would be transplanting, those plants probably have a really good root structure for being 85 days old and that little of vegging, so, I would try to find some better soil w/o any added nutes, and a lot more perlite also I would find some bigger pots… water the hell out of the original soil (with PH’d water) the original pot, CAREFULLY shake as much of the old soil out of the roots as I can and promptly get them into fresh soil. (If I do not have access to better soil I would go ahead and use what I have) but now with the plants in the new bigger pots set the plants deeper so the soil comes up to about 3-4 inches beneath the bottom leafs/nodes… your original pots are fine but the soil is probably pretty shot and not deep enough.

then, I would apply some nutes for the blooming stage tiger blooms #’s is 2-8-4 which is perfect, plus it contains all the other goodies your plants are begging for. If you do not have access to hydro nutes, try a farmers co-op to get pretty decent nutes, anything for blooming will work… organic is choice. Also, get some super THRIVE. Even if your soil has nutes go ahead and feed they look so starved they could use a little over fert (but I doubt it will)… the next watering I would just use water.

do this get those lights right up on them and lets see what happens… oh start some more seeds if you have three 2 are more than likely to be male.

I mixed some fresh organic soil with perlite and organic choice. I then transplanted the three plants into the 5 gallon buckets. I watered until just before i thought it would start coming out the bottom of the buckets.

I did drill holes in the bottom of the buckets and also have platic things under them to protect the floor.

two days later i realized the one plant looked horrible. it looked like it had to much heat. obviously i figured it was in shock. then a day or so later the next plant.

i talked to a fellow grower and he told me i needed to ph the water and he thought that this might be my problem .... he also mentioned lime.
so i went to the hardware and got some agriculture limestone ( powder ).

i was afraid to disturb the soil to much considering the transplant shock, so i just sprinkled two tablespoons on the surface of the soil around each plant and then watered.

I used approx. 3/4 gallon of distilled water among the three plants. no water came out the bottom of the buckets.

interested in what you all think? will they recover?
