the ph of my water was 6.5 when i tsted it without any nute solution, after i added my nute solution to it it went to 5.5ph? what happened is that normal?? i addded a little ph up to it and applied it to my plants. did i mess up by doing this?? need help on this one, it was my first feeding. i am 5 weeks into vegging in ocean forest soil. my nutes that i added were 7.5ml of pure blend pro grow x 6ml of cal-mag x 7ml of liquid karma. is that to little?, how many times a week is it typical to feed it nutrients? i know i shouldn't water every day. just looking for a good routine to follow

your ph will always drop when you add nutrients this is normal and yes you add ph up to balance it back out sounds like your doing fine. if you had a ppm/tds meter it would be easier to deep track of your nutrients , I would suggest getting one good luck with your grow :D

i have one but i think its defective, it jumps numbers all the time. do you have to calibrate out of the box? i have a milwaukee sm802. i though you could use it right from the box, do i have to calibrate ppm and ph on it?

i know that my hydro shop carries a ppm calibrating solution but if its new it should work out of the box you might want to readd the instructions on your meter and it will tell you..... also you've got to let your meter be in there long enough to get an accurate reading.... ps just a thought check the batteries !

i will do all that, dropped some serious coin, i came back from the store and looked up my meter online and it was cheaper than at the store, so it wouldn't surpise me if this guy ripped me.

yeah that sucks man but at least if it breaks than you can take it back in town rather than sending it away when you've bought it online some things I pay more for just for that reason but hope that works out for ya :D
