hi there,

i have two options
1. grow with mineral water ppm @ 350
2. grow in RO water 005 ppm

I got GHE for hard water kit and bionova hydro kit.

which one you think is the better combination? and please let me know what is the recommended EC for seeds/cuttings if i use the setup above

Thanks!!

use the ro water with the lowest ppm you can get then add nutes till you get about 200ppm for seedlings and keep it there till the have at least the second full set of leaves then start upping your ppms.

I would use ro water also, but if you have the nutes for hard water than you should use the tap water right?

great guys!!

so basiclly now i can run two setups :-)

1 with hard water @ 300 ppm and hard water ghe nutrients
2 with RO water @ 50 ppm and soft water nutrients of nova.

so... what is the ***BEST*** option?

This is my advice,
for what it's worth,
don't waste time and seeds
trying to grow with tap water.

Hard water nutes are a band aid on a bigger problem,
and will only give slightly better result
than regular nutes
in 300ppm water.

Go with the RO
and use hydro nutes.

If you want to use the hard water nutes
that you already have, with RO,
you can, but your nutes will have a little excess Mg.

If you start having Mg overload,
after you start flowering,
then you may need to pick up some regular micro,
for that part of your grow.

If you gotta use the 300ppm hard water,
I would say "don't go over 650ppm."

You will have Mg lock with that water,
during the flower phase of your grow.

Use the RO,
and have a better grow.

Earl, this is what i was thinking as well, i will use the nova nutrient with RO water @ 30 PPM start with 150 ppm addon of nutrinet for seeds.

OK,
I think you have been paying attention,
and doing some reading.

Never put nutes on seeds.

Water only,
before they sprout.

After the plant has roots,
then you can start to feed it.

Here is a seed that is just about to "pop"

And here is the root of that seed,
already out-performing the plant.

a few days later,
and it will look like this.

I start them in RO only.

I feed a 25% nute load of veg nutes,
and 100% load of
enzymes, Fulvic, and Humic acids,
after the roots are showing,
like this.

I continue to increase the nute load to 50%
and leave it there during veg.

If you have been using RO for the whole grow,
you can increase up to 70% load,
during the third week of flower.

This load can be maintained
through the 5th or 8th week,
depending on the strain,
and then go back to 50%
until the trichs "tell"

Then you should flush with RO only,
for however long you want.
A day, to 6 weeks.

The longer the better IMO.

Basically,
you can cure it on the plant,
or cure it in the jar.

On the plant makes it smooth.......:bongsmilie:

o.k...

so i will use RO water for seeds. when they sprout good (like in ure picture) i will add 150ppm of nutes. for starts 2 1st weeks only ro water.

sounds good?

they will be placed in rockwoll. i will pre-soak the cubes for 12 hours in RO water with ph 4.7 then will soak them in rockwoll for several hours @ p.h 5.2 to balance it and then plant the seeds with 70-80% humidity and 25C and lights (floro) @ 13 cm high.
and see what happens.

what do u think?

Do yourself a favor and go get some of these propagation plugs.

The coco coir holds the seed better,
and they are an earth friendly bio material.

Rock wool is a pain,
and obsolete,
and at best
should only be used for cloning.

These coco plugs
can be used for cloning
just like rw.

They are much better,
I assure you.

Use the RO water and this magic formula.
Botanicare Nutrients:
126ML Cal-Mag Plus
180ML Liquid Karma
540ML Pure Bend Pro Bloom

Earl i ve been using fresh rain water with 10 ppm what r u thoughts on rain water?? i keep it inside after a rain with airstones and in the dark.

i belive that rain water is good also, since the ppm is very low. from my experience with 003 ppm water, i had to add some CA to the water.
