Apparently nobody here even knows Muslim radicals are using mosques as ambush points, because the rules of engagement say mosques are off limits?

And Obama was told we need 40,000 more troops to support the 160,000 that are already in harms way.

But instead of untying the military's hands in an effort to easily win this war, or sending the necessary troops, that Rat Coward in Chief Obama is unable to make a decision, and instead offers his "opinions".

Here we are a week later "The President's 3 Options on Afghanistan Troops"

No, not really... it was US "leaving them alone" that allowed the taliban to come to power in the first place. What's ironic is that our continued presence in Afghanistan is only causing more "civilians" to join up with the taliban to push us OUT. So, in essence - WE created the taliban, and now WE are increasing their numbers.

Hmm... who was it that said "I don't do quagmires"? Methinks that person lies.

We could wipe the Taliban out, if our hands weren't tied by political correctness, and other nonesense, and nobody would dare F with the US again, or at least for a long long time.

Or do you think if we are nice to them they won't hate us as much?

The Brits tried to appease Hitler and where did that get them?

But war is big business, many contractors are making money in Iraq, and intend to do the same in Afghanistan, thanks to Obama and his banker friends.

Why doesn't he try explaining that to: "Four-year old Paige didn't want to say goodbye to her daddy before he was shipped off to Iraq" yesterday

what is the goal in Afghanistan? i don't get it either.
i've heard the real issue is Pakistan, because they are nuclear.
so is the U.S. trying to stabilize Afghanistan to keep the taliban out of Pakistan?

I heard of another option of removing the standing army and using special forces to fight the taliban.

We originally went to Afghanistan to find Bin Laden (a noble goal, I suppose). Now we are essentially stuck there fighting "insurgency" caused by OUR presence. It's ridiculous.

GreenCross: Are you rewriting history again and putting Obama behind the war in Iraq? I think when we invaded Iraq, Obama hadn't even been elected to the Senate yet.

I'm confused... are you FOR sending more troops, or not? You're being more than a tad contradictory here.

we haven't finished a war since WWII, but ur right. If you don't finish what ya start, ur just a trouble maker. But Obama, politically, has an out. He can make the case that he didn't start the war and we are no longer fighting the original enemy. Which is why I say, get out and battle Al Qaeda covertly and stop wasting American and Afghani lives.
