Obama One Term

......... the problems i have with all that's going on is, where were all of you complainers prior to Obama? this stuff is ALL not new, but now that someone that you don't like is in office i am hearing all this about the constitution, freedoms, etc.......
most of us were right there, pitted against the excesses of government no matter who was in office. it isn't that brak and his cronies are continuing our slow slide into totalitarianism that is the problem, though that would be enough to raise the hackles of most of us. it is the fact that they are attempting to accelerate that decline in an unprecedented fashion that has so many up in arms. where government's wheels were slowly grinding back and forth before, allowing the bureaucracy to chip away at the private sector, the plans that the massive liberal majority in government have put on the table would set us running headlong to that point where the constitution itself would have little meaning. out of control federal spending and debt, a constant barrage of new social programs and usurious taxation are what have been fielded by liberal leaders who feel they have been given the mandate to make their wildest authoritarian wet dreams come true.

as each new regime has come to power they have had to deal with the mistakes of the past, but this administration's scapegoating of baby bush and anyone else they can find has far outstripped any other. the economic collapse, whose groundwork was laid by the liberal policies of previous regimes and made all the worse by the negligence of government to properly enforce regulation that was already in place, has been laid at the feet of the republicans. the health-care crisis, though not really a crisis and exacerbated more by activist judges, government's past forays into the health insurance industry and the expansion of the welfare state than anything else, has been blamed on an insurance industry whose profit margin is minuscule when compared to many other businesses. the democrats' rants against "bush's wars", brought about by the unprecedented attacks on the continental u.s., are now seen as nothing more than political posing and campaign rhetoric. the pre-inauguration promises of a more transparent government and a post-partisan political arena were quickly broken, with claims of conservative obstructionism and the "lies" of the opposition media used to used to cover the fact that business as usual was all that was ever intended. need i go on or are you starting to get the picture? with each misstep they have made sure to place the blame as far from themselves as possible and keep the democratic party a spotless beacon of populism.

while this administration may not be the worst in our history, it has done more to try and obliterate the spirit of the constitution than any in recent memory. while bowing to the pressures of lesser nations and spitting in the face of long time allies, brak and his ilk have doomed future generations to pay for their mistakes and done their best to strip american industry of its freedom and vitality. the u.s. is not france (perpetual surrenderers and no questions asked arms dealers to the world), it is not the u.k. (a fading giant, overrun by the "spirit of multiculturalism" and whose people seem not to mind that their government pries into every waking moment of their lives), and it is not canada (a half-hearted ally to all and meager waypoint for the world). this is the united states of america, a loosely joined federation of independent states. we may be a bit too prudish for our own good, but we were designed as a bastion of freedom for the individual and that such a goal should be lost to the impatience of the mob is intolerable.

First.... that's one of the reasons to NOT support Obama, so you now contradict urself.

Second, it is WRONG for the govt. to "cherry pick" which corp's receive tax money.

Third, the entire bail out is WRONG. Bad corps should FAIL. NEVER throw good money at bad books.

So, if you are pro Obama, you are truly lost, by your own postings.... ur lost.
When did I say I supported him !!

Talk about the substance of what I'm saying..

whether you agree or disagree..

nobody has talked about my points.. just went back to ignorant partisan bullshit !!

trying to find common ground to build from !!

How can anyone respond to your "points" when your points are empty rhetoric like "think outside the box" and "look at the facts?"

It isn't the companies that are being bailed out, it's the unions. It should have been called the state of the unions address.

People have the wrong idea about what a company failing means. When an airline fails, the planes don't disappear, the offices are still there, it is still an airline. What happens is those assets go into the market and are acquired by someone else who thinks they can use them more productively. Hence, ineffective management of resources is replaced by effective management. The new grows from the old. You would think liberals would be into that. If the process is not allowed to happen, because government steps in and tries to manage it itself, the inevitable is only prolonged and relief held at bay.

Company failures and recessions are like forest fires. They are natural and they are a positive regenerative force that only the foolish try to thwart. Obama is damaging the economic environment, prolonging and deepening the recession, and stimulating unemployment with his actions.
Agree it was a union bail out, the union helped both parties out and now it was there turn to get a chunk of the pie.

UAW was the single most benefactor next to the banks on this bail out.

The senates only job is to subvert populace stuff that gets through the House. It is big business' check-mate on change..

Fuck the Senate,,, Abolish it !!!!

There are no true lefties in all of congress besides bernie sanders of vermont.., the new guy Grayson is good. ron paul is different.

all the rest are corporate whores and that's not a left wing thing..

do you see what you want or believe what you see ?
The senate and the house is there as a system of checks and balances.
With out it any president would just be king and could tear this country apart in a matter of days.

Democracy is something new to this country in the last 100 years. We were not founded as a democracy it was founded as a republic.

Our founding fathers have told us from the beginning that a democracy destroys countries and corrupts men as in man kind.

I guess the way are government is today they were right. They also said to sow the seed in very land to be used as god said it should.
