Obtaining Clones? ... Legally?

I'm out of date with the new reforms sense the fall of last year, and I just have a quick question.

I grow myself, all 6 plants that I can do at a time.

My problem is, even after buying and Aeroponic cloner (24 site turbo klone) I've hacked many cuttings, that have all died.

Is there a way that I, a legal patient here in Maine, can obtain clones legally? Are they obtainable for the dispensary?

Thanks a bunch for any input.

they have to be donated by law. so no dispensary has them, since they can't sell them. :/

your best bet is to find a patient or caregiver hat will donate and has spares to do so.. if i did, i would help but i JUST culled all my extras and my cloner hasn't been on in a week..

good luck

Can you be more precise on location? Maybe I can help you figure out why you can't clone. In the long run, you're gonna want to solve that.

best bet in maine is to find a caregiver.Alot of other states have meets where everyone goes and does cookouts, some will swap clones and beans, not sure when there are any in maine, didnt sub have a bad deal with a event upcoming to maine?. these are leagal mmj meets and p2p but not sure what they are doing for p2p now.

I clone in a humidity dome with a heating pad in Rapid Rooters. (It's not that hard)

If you could get someone local to help you out, it think your troubles will be over.

Good Growing :joint::peace:

as for clones i cut mine 4nodes down the branch and do the clean 45deg cut,i try and cut in under water and toss right in dwc with nothing more then ph balenced water. It takes about a gd solid week but i have 1"roots by then ..1 or 2. and thats with no rooting agent

Tet - Im in Portland / Gorham area.

Pellet - NOrthern Lights Blue, Trainwreck, and Chemdog

And its an aeroponic system, and im transplanting it to soil.

Don't overthink it - cannabis wants to put down new roots. Make sure you strip at least one node and bury it. Two nodes is better. I get a 70%+ success rate sticking a cutting in damp potting soil and ignoring it (other than making sure it doesn't dry out) for 2 weeks.

A quick word about receiving clones.

I've gotten cuts from 2 different caregivers in my area. Ended up getting spider mites from them both. If you're gonna accept clones I'd suggest isolating them from your grow for a bit. Make sure they are pest free before bringing them into your garden. I no longer trade cuts. I'm mite free and wanna stay that way

Couple quick basic cloning rules. Make sure your medium is moist not soaked, make them need to develop roots. If you mist them constantly they have no need for roots. I take my cuts, root in moist coco. Mist daily for 3 days and then mist only when I see some wilting. I leave my dome dry throughout and use a heating pad. Usually have roots in 7-10 days depending on strain

Cloning takes some practice and time. Keep trying, read some more on the subject and eventually you'll get the hang of it. If you're gonna keep growing you want to get that skill down

I would add; if your new to the whole game then you really should start with seed. go to a reputable seed bank (attitude) and start from teh start. getting clones is a whole new risk, all new very little and long delay'ed issues to find and deal with, and frankly, put in your time, do the foundation work, you'll be a better grower for it..

then start cloning your own plants and TRADE them..

This is my third harvest going from seed. I can grow a great plant, I just cant get a clone to root. Maybe ill try rockwool or something next time, instead of the aeroponic system i bought

I am not familiar with the Aeroponic system. I do have a couple others however. I started out with a 5-gal bucket system that has a pump and single rotary sprayer at the top of a stem. It does not add the aeration to the water. Has a lid with 8 sites. It worked great so I got another. I get really long roots in about 2 weeks with them. Nearly 100% success rate.

I wanted to do more at a time though so I got a 30-site EZ-Clone. My success with that has not been impressive yet, but I have only done one batch and I am certain the problems were of my own making.

If you want to try the 8-site I am talking about they have the setup at HTG in Portland for about 50 bucks.

Some things to check on your Aeroponics: ph, temp, water source. Have you run it wth the lid off (outside lol) to make sure it operates properly?

like i said, get your foundation solid.

you can't build a complex on sand, and cloning IS the foundation to regular med production. Their are people on here that are willingly offerring their support (ie: help you go through the cloning proccess) you should take them up on it.

quiet honestly, any offer to help someone learn how to clone, more than typing a few words, is far and away and above and beyond firendly.. dig what i am saying?

I am ALWAYS surprised when some one says, "i offered to walk them through it, step by step".. I would never do that for a stranger, sorry.

AND THEN!

I hear the other people don't take the offer.. and wel..

Maine Strain, I just remembered a pic of that cloner I posted a few months ago in this very forum. The roots actually got much longer a week later.

I dunno, I taught a class last year on cloning , it was $250 2 hours and at the end donated 20 clones in a dome tray...maybe will do it around end of may this year also...
...but here is how I do it free of charge...cut, dip, stick, in the dome tray and leave it ALONE!...no rocket surgery...about 85 to 90% success

Yeah, before I discovered other cloning setups I would just take a cutting, dip in Clonex gel and stick in soil with a dome. Mist twice a day. I had great success also, but it took too long. Speed is really the only reason I got a machine. Well that and you don't need a dome or misting. I know MB said he doesn't even mist, but he's got a magic touch lol. I think it was MB lol
