I'm using the Botanicare Pure Blend Pro nutes... and even though I was feeding small doses I had a problem. I was only watching the PH ... not paying attention to the PPM. Once I started monitoring the PPM I found out that even the small amounts of nutes was shooting my PPM up to 1800... WTF??? Anyway... I'm on top of the problem and now carefully monitor PPM and PH... and I'm happy to report that my babies are recovering nicely.

I found this today on a Hydro site:

PLEASE NOTE:
Many hydroponic growers have begun noticing a problem with the feeding chart/directions on the PureBlend Pro bottles. If you follow their directions you will find that the strength of your solution is way too high. It is best to monitor the PPM in your solution. Find out what your plant needs & keep your solution at that level, or maybe just a little higher. ... If you don't have a way of monitoring your solution, we HIGHLY reccomend getting a meter....

So... if you're using the Botanicare Pure Blend nutes and feeding by the package instructions and not watching the PPM and having plant problems.... this is VERY likely the problem.

:peace:

GH = ok nutes, they work great I just dont like the way the micro stains the roots brown, it makes it hard to tell the early browning of rot sometimes. Only had one case of it, and I was using GH at the time so I didnt know until they got slimy and the root mass started to die off.

if your going hydro, i hear adding a teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide to each gallon of water will help give the roots oxygen.

What does everyone think about Miracle Grow Miracid acid-loving plant food, 30%-10%-10%? I haven't used it yet because I want to know whether the blood meal, bone meal and worm castings in the soil will do the trick. It is a water soluble fertilizer and soil acidifier.

idk, i added a few pellets of regular plant fertilizer to one of my plants and it instantly nute burned. Make sure you always started out at like 1/4 potency.

i don't want to order any nutes i can get down the street. Can someone explain the 10-20-10, if that's the ratio, would something like .5-1-.5 work? it's just less nutes in it?
