Hi, everyone
I'm in need of some desperate assistance for my mother. She has stage 4 lung cancer that has gone to the bone. She has extreme pain in her back currently. There is nothing that makes her comfortable and she cannot sleep.
Her palliative doctor prescribed Dilaudid slow release 4mg twice a day and 6mg at night. She was taking 2mg breakthrough every two hours and it did nothing for pain.
I switched her to cannabis oil after months of coaxing her so she is now taking a grain of rice size every two hours instead of the breakthrough. However is still in a tremendous amount of pain.
Am I giving her too much?
What is the tolerance for someone using that amount of opioids?
Should I be giving her more?
Any experience or anecdotal information would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you all again
