Oil making- more then the buds?

How much of the plant should I use? The flowers clearly but the trim seems like a waste to discard.

It comes down to how strong you want your oil and how much oil you want to eat to get high. I toss the trim in the trash as I already grow more then I can use. Shake all the Bud to Hash / Kief and use only that to make capsules from and toke the rest. I haven't smoked or made bud-based oil in over 10 years.

I have my own buds to get high from, vaped. But my wife uses the oil infused with olive oil for sleep and general health care. I can imagine your technique would guarantee strength but maybe for her oil from the trim and buds is enough.

Lots of people use their trim. Only one way to really find out if it will work for your situation. Give it a whirl

If it's got sugar on it yes, otherwise trash.

I made oil from trimmings. You won't get fullmelt but it can be nice, especially for cooking. The more bud in your trimmings the better it get's obviously.

The person who supplied me left increasingly more bud in the trimmings.aybe he got more lazy. I guess he liked the result.
