on/off switch broke off T5 fixture

Pulled one of my T5's out of the box for the first time in a few months and the on/off switch fell off. Not sure how it happened, but I tried to get it back on to no avail. So, I'm trying to bypass it. I'll have it connected to a timer anyway so I don't really need it. Trouble is, I'm not sure how to bypass it and I don't want to connect the wrong wires and blow the bad boy up.

I found this thread http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2099654 where one user suggests connecting the 2 wires running from the switch together. Rather then just try this, I figured I'd ask for advice here. Below are some links to pics of what I'm working with.

this is the housing the on/off switch was in

the wires coming from the left are from the power cord, the 2 coming from the small black box are from the on/off switch

the orange wire nut connects one wire from the on/off switch to a wire from the internal ballast

the yellow wire nut i'm holding connects one wire from the on/off switch to a wire coming from the power cable

Any ideas on how I get this thing back on?
