I could care less about numbers, heat sinks, drivers, etc... I'm well versed in technology and electronics and what I don't know I can teach myself extremely fast. This entire LED vs HID is frankly just plain stupid. Some of us don't care. I grow with HID's. I grow great weed. Growing is a hobby. I grow because it's an outlet away from technology. It's like getting my hands dirty and getting back to the basics of life. I also grow a vegetable garden every year for the same reason. I grow flowers as well because they're beautiful to look at. If I could grow indoors without lights I would but I can't. So I use the lights I have and am not interested in turning the pleasure of growing into some project with soldering irons and schematics.

I use an HO T5 that I've had for years and a 600 watt HPS. I'm very happy with the results. I also use the simplest fertilizer there is. It provides everything a plant needs and they seem to be very happy with it. People get too wrapped up with shiny objects. The latest twenty bottles of nutes, The latest pollen chucked strain for $20 a seed. The latest light. But they forget about the growing. When you sprout a seed you bring a living thing into the world. Watching it grow is more important to me than what kind of light it was grown under.

I've seen grows from people using the latest expensive LED lights and fancy nutes. Many are making posts asking for help with whats wrong with their plants. Those are typically the ones that brag about their lights and make fun of the people using HID's. I also see grows from people that actually "Grow" killing it under LED's with absolute fire. They don't care what light someone else is using. They care about growing. There are many great people out there.

What are you growing for? Think about it.

I know why I grow and I'm happy doing it. That's all that matters.

Best light? The one that I'm using.

Now I'm going to smoke some Panama I grew, listen to some music, and then wake my lady up and have some fun. You can continue arguing about lights. But think about if it's worth the time.

How is your quality though? Show us a bunch of pics of all this huge yields you are taking about.
Wondered what temp/humidity level you found most suited to the QB boards, just got mine and so far going good but not alot of unbiased grow info out there. I do find em easy to keep cool and they certainly grow extremely well.

There is a current misconception that excellent LED COBs and Boards are very expensive. Used to be true but costs have rapidly fallen and efficiency increased dramatically for white COBs and Boards. No bulbs to buy and dispose of. No fall off after a few months and less heat to deal with for same amount of light.

Of course HPS grows fine weed and lots of it but is no longer the most efficient light for growers, especially personal growers. Most started that way.

@xtsho's signature is very true!

No light is the best or it would be well known.

Those who arent getting this arent really long term growers :-)

Long time grower here, occasional irritator.

Seems reasonable that the most physically efficient light source is the best in an objective sort of way. And some source do have superior spectrums which do make a difference.

81 degrees and 55-60 percent rh. I run everything like that. I never said that they didn't grow good bud. I was just mentioning the quality is no where near better then hps.

Superior spectrum.... are you guessing here because as such science hasnt found the most efficient spectrum yet.

What i dont get is why claims are made on facts that arent known, ppfd for example - s'why hps being less efficient can match led watt for watt because when you assume leds spectrum is superior on paper it by no means is in nature.

Follow the science not the trolls.

But yer if one light was much better then in this market it would be the only light used - yet to see that so explain why nothing that happens when you have a SUPERiOR spectrum and light has happened yet... Hmmmmm???
