Ok so after 2 different trial-n-error episodes i finally got my babes to sprout,it is exactly one week into my grow not includin the one on the top right and the one in the middle those are 3 days old,but so far so good.these peat pellets are the way to go all you do is supply a little water daily because they dry out fast and it does the work for you.In another week i will be adding nutes and plan to keep updating everyone weekly.

Are they already under HPS?

They should be under MH, CFL's, or t5's at this stage. The blue spectrum is a lot more important than the red spectrum of light during the seedling / veg stage.

What strain?
What kind of light?
What is your plan? Going to soil I assume? What kind?
I use Ocean Forrest by Fox Farm. I didn't start nutes till like day 20. I would wait on the nutes, thats just me.

the strain is ny diesel and haze cross i got the seeds from a friend i have 25 of them and according to him they are feminised....we'll see about that =P.My plan is to transplant the plants into Pro-mix as soon as they break through the bottom of the peat's. The light is a 400w hps wich i do understand that most people use MH for the veg stage but was tole its possible to run under hps with good temp balance and light distance wich i believe i have under control so far

Yeah, people HAVE done it. I don't see why you want to though. Yeah, it has been done, but there are ways to do it to get WAY better results. Also, just a heads up, running that on 18/6 for a month adds about 30$ on your elec. bill. You're not saving money by cutting corners and using HPS throughout the whole grow.

You will probably have stretching issues too. You have to keep them a certain distance from the light do to temp, and they are going to keep stretching to get as close as they can to the light.

Just a heads up.

I wouldn't personally do it. Get a MH conversion bulb.. WAY better than doing HPS for the whole duration of grow.

i have debated on getting a mh bulb but that will take about a week to deliver unless it wont be a problem to change bulbs, would that cause harm?

HPS works fine for vegging, despite being the wrong spectrum. Not as good as MH, but still respectable growth rates. However, the issue as I see it is that, like ZaVe said, it is costing you a fortune.

You're using 400 watts to do a job that could easily be done with a couple of 23 watt CFL bulbs, placed nice and close. Those plants are tiny, and most of the light you produce is completely wasted, at this point.
