Opium Compared To Others?

How does opium compare to say synthetics and opioids like Vicodin, roxy, morphine etc.

I'm not looking for a super strong opiate high im looking for something subtle but exiting. Is pure organic opium what I'm looking for ? Good high for a pot head on occasion?

Any info about opium and opiates would be great they really aren't my realm of knowledge .2/

My mom always had lots of poppies in the yard so I decided to try harvesting some sap from the heads to try it. Let it dry out good and smoked some with some pot and got a nice buzz of both. Very relaxed and dreamy feeling. I had smoked hash mixed with opium and raw opium in the past so knew what the buzz should feel like. This was much milder than either but really nice.

Opium poppies grow all over the place in Vancouver as they were intensively planted by early Chinese immigrants and each one makes thousands of seeds. Opium is found all over the plant and not just in the head and extracting it is fairly easy. Not illegal to grow but not legal to process either.

The cops out there, customs I guess, bust loads of dried opium poppies that get shipped in as dried ornamental flowers. People that are getting the ones that don't get intercepted grind them up and make tea with them as was the custom from where they came from. Stupid cops should just leave that stuff alone but it cuts into Big Pharma sales so better they go out in the streets to buy heroin or fentynal I guess. :)

To get the sap I took a file to a fork and sharpened the tines so it could make four shallow cuts at once vertically on the heads a few times then after it's oozed out just used a butter knife to scrape it off. Can't imagine doing that to acres of poppies like they do in Afghanistan etc.

The Vaults of Erowid has info about opium and everything else drug related.

Have fun.

Depends on the variety of poppy it came from.

Their are Morphine, Codeine, thenbaine, and other dominate alkaloid varietys , and everything in between, as well as different harvesting, growing and processing teck's. As well as dose ROA and tolerance that all can have big differences

Morphine and codeine are derivatives of natural opium, often produced synthetically.

They're all opioids, they all connect to the same receptors in the brain.

And they're all addictive.

I stay away. I hate the nauseous feeling I get and they don't do much for my pain.

Cannabis is a much more effective pain management tool for me.

I get sick as a dog from morphine so when at the hospital getting carved open I demand Demerol. Last time my lung collapsed I got neither while he fumbled for a half hour with the rib spreader trying to insert a 3/8" chest tube instead of doing a quick needle aspiration to relieve the pressure and shipping me to the big hospital where they knew what they were doing the first time and put a tine tube in hooked up to Heimlich chest drian valve. I yelled the hospital down for the whole time. I finally learned what real pain feels like. Think about someone sticking a knife in your ribs then twisting it over and over again for a half hour. Never going to bitch about a lousy toothache again! Should have sued. Still could. Hmmmm . . .

I was getting Demerol for my bum shoulder for about 3 years then all this opiod OD crap came up and the doc cut me off about a year ago. Suggested Cymbalta, (seriously addictive and mind altering anti-depressant), instead. 30 50mg Demerol every 4 or 5 months does not a junkie make. I miss it tho. Didn't really need it for the shoulder but take 4 of those puppies and it's a great buzz! :)

He's OK about using an off-label drug that can really mess you up for something it's reported to help with but not made for but when I asked him to sign my medpot papers he didn't want to because he didn't know how it would affect me. I KNOW HOW IT AFFECTS ME ASSHOLE SO SIGN THE F'N PAPER ALREADY! Must have got his medical license out of a box of Cracker Jacks. South African doctors suck and that's all we get here. Older German south African but the young black fellers aren't any better trained and refuse to sign too because it will make me go insane. (Shakes shaggy mane in disbelief)

STRAIGHT UP !!!!!! ^
I just ate some edibles and I feel amazing.

I can literally feel the pain melt away. Both mentally and physically.
I LOVE WEED SO FUCKING MUCH !!!!!!!

Eating 30+ mgs of thc is just like popping a fat oxy
and it's way cheaper
And much less addictive. And no long term side effects. And helps you sleep.

No wonder Big Pharma wants it outlawed! It's hurting profits!

Sue him anyway. Then you can afford to switch doctors.
Doesn't work that way here. I can see any doc I want here with our socialist medical system for no charge. No one in Alberta has to pay for basic medical and I get enhanced medical thru my wife's disability. Includes dental, Chiro and even a massage once in a while tho I haven't used the last two here. Had a lot of work done on my teeth in the last few years and the wife got full dentures. Cost: Lunch in the city as her medical pays twice what gas costs to drive there and back. I guess lunch got paid for too so it was all free!

She got a pair of hearing aids for free about 5 years ago that would have cost $2500. Wore them twice and they've been sitting in the storage box ever since. What a waste. Her bad.
