Alright i ripped the CD-rom apart and took the lens out...looks a little different than yours but generally the same thing....had it taped nicely over the lens on my phone,which is almost the same size! and I couldn't see anything...tried the lens both ways although I'm pretty sure the curved side is the one you want pointed at what you are looking at...i dunno man maybe the Iphone is amazing or soemthing...i couldn't get ANYTHING to come clear.

You need really good lighting, I have an led flashlight, that it's literally blinding. When you try to look for something, is it all dark? you should at least try to find the green.

it wasnt all dark..i'll try screwing around with it and take a couple pics of the ay I've got it setup...gotta get some damn batteries for the REAL camera...which is impossible to do this I think...

Yeah, I don't think a real camera will work, unless you disable the automatic focus, and you tape the tiny lens in front of the camera lens and black it out around the little lens, so the little one's light is all the camera's getting from.

Also, just checked and you need to have the lens like 2 mm from the leaf or bud. Pretty much barely touching the leaf.
