Light Fixture:
The goal of this fixture was to place even light coverage over a 4x4 tent.

The aluminum panel that they strips were mounted to is rough cut 3' x 3' 1/4" 6061 aluminum plate that was cooled by 4 12v PC fans ran in series.

Each board has 160 led's on it, ran in a 16 in series 10 in parallel, there are 10 strips on the 3x3 board for a total of 1600 led's.

The power supply used with the panel is a Meanwell HLG-600h-48B. I have also powered it with a cheap $20 500w 48v supply from aliexpress.

For the last run, the supply was adjusted to pull 499.2 watts from the wall.

No seriously, thats what separates the hobbyists from the pros.

Knowing the biz from experience and intense research can save you from these pitfalls.

Ordered LED's from Alibaba with the black dots.

Finished a RDWC run with them.

Fake or not i'm happy with the end results.

Will post pictures once they are hosted.
Don't feel bad if they are fake, lots of the other guys (like Grow Green Led) that buy them from Alibaba/China are using fake diodes too. They seem to grow plants just fine. Perhaps the longevity is slightly more suspect depending on who built it.

I don't feel bad...

What is a fake diode that is built to spec?

Are all Nvidia graphic cards fake?

The run was done from clones.

I reside in a rec/medical state.

Here are some notes from the last run with the panel.

4 plant run with the LED panel.

Genetics: Black Jack (60% Jack Herer, 40% Black Berry Kush).

System is a DWC system that recirculates slowly....as in a trickle (60gph pump).
5 gallon buckets returned to a 26 gallon resi.
Water level was ran 1/2" to touching the base of the net pot lid.

Each bucket had a 4" circle air stone in the base.

Light Source: DIY Panel 500 watt draw, 1600 leds
Nutrients: General Hydro Flora Line
Added Nutrients: CaliMagic, Hawaiian Bud and Bloom
Water Source: RO

Resi was swapped every 7 days with 24 gallons of nutrient solution.
Solution was mixed to half strength for the full length of the run.

Room temperature averaged between 64 and 70 degrees for the run.

Tent temperatures hit a peak high of 82 degrees and the coldest the tent saw was 68 degrees.

Veg Cycle: 28 days
Flower Cycle 61 to 68 days in total.

Plants were harvested twice, first the top half of the plant was removed at day 61, and the plant was cut at the roots on day 68.

The top parts were trimmed of the water leaves and hung for 8 days.
They were then dry trimmed and placed in glass to cure.

The hash buds, lower half of plant was cut and hung to dry as a whole plant, it was hung for 10 days before behind pulled down, cut and placed into paper bags.

Weight was taken after the one week after placing the trimmed buds into jars.
Total Grams (Was off a kitchen scale, only gives whole numbers)
450 of Hash Buds
430 of Trimmed Bud (was hoping for 500 grams to hit the 1 watt per gram measurement)

Only hit .86 grams per watt on flower this run, I think its because of the fake LED's from Alibaba....

What you guys think?

they could be lm561b, or b+, which by all measures is pretty darn close.

if the light grows a plant and that produces smokable bud... who gives a fuck? (whether the light is 'fake' or not)

LM561B and LM561B+ use a completely different mounting pad, it is extremely easy to tell the difference between the two.

Now...LM561B+ vs LM561C, that is going to be much harder to do since they use the same form factor and pad.

Your leds weren't fake, they were real, just not the model they were supposed to be, with video cards its different, you pay for QC, thats why there are several makers of the same card at different price points.

I also used alibaba strips and agree they grow some good pot. there is no denying even a crappy 1w blurple LED will grow some pot, but it wont be in the same quality or league vs if it was grown under cree or osram leds, I just dislike the fact they are saying they will send you lm561c s6 and then send you something else.

I know they are not fake...this thread started as a joke but I have soon realized i'm not great at expressing sarcasm through a post...why i posted "I'm worried my fake LED's might be fakes..."

Sometimes you luck out. But it generally applies to life. Buying the cheapest thing sometimes gets the job done once or twice.
