I went out this morning to check the girls, found the one in the shelter to be leaning way over. It was pretty windy last night, so I thought that must have pushed it over... nope. Some rippers pulled it over so that they could literally rip off three main branches.

The first year I had no worms, once they found us they've been back every year. I suspect rippers are the same way. I'm not going to shoot them, I'm not going to make my backyard into a high security zone, I'm just going to call it a day. Stick a fork in it, I'm done growing outdoors.

It's funny, naively I thought that maybe because I live 100 yards from a police station, I would be less likely to be robbed. No sir.
I'm really sorry to hear that. I would be devastated if anyone messed with my shit.

Damn man hate to hear that. Not even smart enough to bring some shears. Probably stupid fuking teenagers.
You have a good attitude about not stressing over it.

I found a few worms yesterday. I'm gonna spend a few hours tomorrow morning opening up the buds and looking for more. I'm bummed about it but I tried to prevent it this year. So far they've have very little impact.
Found the little bastard worm today on the same cola I had rot on...DEATH!!!!!

Man I'm fuckin sorry that shit happend. I can't believe how many people are getting nicked off. Like the shits legal. Grow it your damn self instead of ripping off plants that aren't evem fully matured yet. I have mine on a second story deck that has no access to it from the outside. I'm still worried someone is gonna James bond my shit one of these nights

Thanks everyone, shit happens. I just have to figure out what's next; leave what remains up and hope it finishes, or take it down before they come back for the rest...?

One kind of surreal thing for me is that as an Oregonian I could call it in and report this theft to the police. I know they don't care, but I wonder if in this post-legalization world if anyone is tracking small scale cannabis thefts. Trespassing is trespassing, and theft is theft, I should probably report it.

Hate to hear about your loss. It's been about 30 years since I had a plant straight up stolen, and that was my "friend". I can't really hold it against the cops for chopping my GdR and Peach. They were just doing their job, while I didn't do a very good job of hiding them.

This is a brave new world. Will take a while for the legal states to sort out how the law handles this. But it is like having a bush with hundred dollar bills hanging from it. Kids will climb a fence for a C note.

Very true.

I just got back from the Sheriff's office and they were really nice, took their time, gave us a case number. I asked what they thought I should do, they said put up No Trespassing signs at all entrances, oddly that gives them more leverage if they catch someone in the act. And they said to put up video surveillance, or at least put up clearly visible signs that say "this property protected by..." or "you are on camera". Everyone in the room knew this was a formality and that nothing would come of it, but they were very respectful, so that was nice. They must be in good shape, I'd guess they had 30+ pounds of gear on them, it's a long way from Andy Griffith. I bet they're glad summer is over, that's got to be hot as hell with the vest and all that equipment.

I have a few friends in Law Enforcement. Tough job. There is always a few dicks in every department, but most are alright. My camp got ripped last year. They came out and looked around, but when your shit is gone, it's gone. Not much they can do.

We rode out the wind and rain pretty well. I set up a quick and dirty hoop house on Saturday before the rains came in. My wife likes to call it the Chuck Wagon. Since it looks like the weather for the next 2 weeks is going to be nice, I was thinking of taking down the cover as it does stick out quite noticeably.

You live in a beautiful area, I hope some day I get out of the city. Anyway, I know what you mean about the shelter -- our yard is a jungle of young fruit trees, tall flowers, bamboo, and the cannabis got lost in all of that. I believe that our getting ripped off was definitely connected to the cover we had just put up drawing attention to plants we were protecting from the rain. Not saying where you are that would happen, just confirming that it can draw unwanted attention.

It's looking like we might harvest something this year. The Dream Catcher's hairs are darkening quickly, and even though just 10 days ago it looked weeks behind the Amnesia Hashplant, it's catching up. I picked off 4 small worms from the AH, didn't see any on the DC. The OGS seeds did not finish as early as they claimed they would, but when I compare them to pictures of last year's grow, they are maybe two weeks ahead of that group.

While we debate surveillance systems, motion sensors, borrowing a dog, somehow wiring up the electric fence around the girls... I'm going old school and attempting to camp in the yard. Between the busy road and being in the flight path of PDX and the cats frequently tripping the motion sensor lights, sleep is a challenge. If the plants and I can hang in there for one more week, I'll take them down and call it good.

One of the remaining buds on the AH, you can still see some ash on the leaves from the fire

The poor DC that got too tall and had the top 2 feet cut off just after it showed sex, basically all that are left on the plant are secondary bud sites but she's doing respectfully well

Nothing says "Don't mess with this crazy farmer!" like a cheap Coleman tent from Bi-Mart

What a beautiful day. Had to open the hatch on the shelter and turn the fan on just to cool it off in there. I don't think the plants need high heat, and the worms *love* the heat, makes them eat and grow much faster. I've picked off about a dozen small ones so far from the AH, little bastards. Since the DC hasn't had a single worm, I'm wondering if when I hacked the top off (to keep it short enough that it couldn't be seen from the street) I cut off all the worm eggs that were laid -- it seems like the moths go for the tops of the tallest branches. Not a worm control method I would recommend, but perhaps a small silver lining despite my poor planning.

Beautiful looking hash :) I have the same machine, but only used it once. It might be inaccurate, but I feel like I have more control and get better yields just using a long paint mixing drill bit and churning it in a clean bucket. It does create other hazards and its more work, but so far the end result has been satisfying.

Last year I had worms real bad, than rot came behind it. This year I have had crazy amounts of rot, and only saw a worm or two on just two or three plants. And in each case the rot came before I ever saw a worm.
