Out of control sour d, 21 days into flower

Well, I got my tent set up, my 1000w vented and running, and my girls are looking ok.

I didn't do much outside of topping them a few times during veg, and as you can see, things got a bit out of control during the stretch. This strain really grew out during the first week of 12/12 lol
Nice job, you've got your hands full.

i use to scrog, but just couldn't be assed this time around haha. I tried tying some branches down, but they just turned back up and kept on stretching.

I'll more than likely move back into scrog next grow, as this was a pain in the ass. I may also do a partial harvest, try and let some of the smaller crap at the bottom fatten up.

It's my first time running the 1000w (coming from a 400w setup previous to this run) and I'm excited to see the difference in results!

Personally, I'm at the point now I top everything I grow (except maybe some super short strain).......I'm just tired of surprises.

eh, they were topped a few times. should have just kept them shorter from the get go. most of my other grows never stretched that much, and it kinda took me off guard.

not too worried about it, like I said I'll just stagger the harvest from these, and i'll make sure to keep their clones way shorter haha

was your tent hot? I never top anymore....I honestly couldn't tell you why, when I need to grow bigger plants, I prefer LSTing them and clipping the fan leaves to let the lower growth shoot up, I tend to get the best results that way.

Those girls look nice and healthy though.

Thank you! No, I screwed up my feeding ratio and shocked them pretty hard. Tent temp is around 73F, water temp around 68F.

I use tomato cages and clips. It makes them a little easier to manage. You'll be cussing in a few weeks! ...lol
Looks like they're done stretching ... I hope lol. On the 400w set up, I was pulling 3-4 oz dry per plant ... so I'm hoping upping the wattage will increase those numbers substantially

Gonna need to clean those girls up a lot in order to get more weight per plant. Clip fan leaves little by little in order to get more light to the middle buds.

I usually dont like to stress them during flower. I just bend the branches around, and i'll stagger the harvest to get the smaller stuff some light towards the end

To avoid the stressing, take a small handful off every other day or so. do it slowly and strategically, getting light to the next set of potential big buds. And the bottom 2 feet of those plants....get rid of all vegetation. Make those bottom 2 feet of branches completely bare, they are taking energy away from the buds you want at the top. Its a pain in the ass kinda work, but worth it.

A little clone update, as not much has changed with the flower room.

I took one clone from each plant, and depending on yield, the next set of clones may be from a single lady.

Since these weren't feminized, I only took these when I noticed preflowers on the mother plants - about 20 days ago - next round I think I'm going to try and have at least 6 clones going, and I'm striving to get on a perpetual schedule, while at the same time scrog'ing the mothers. when I start noticing any issues with my clones, I'll toss the scrog under the 1000w and start some new seeds.

I'm thinking with proper grooming and another month or 2 in veg, these two will be nice and bushy.

Day 34 picture update!

Had a little pH issue while I was away for a few days on a business trip, but other than some yellow leaves, the girls seem ok. Buds are nice and dense, and I still have at least another 4 weeks until harvest.

Not much to say, the pictures speak for themselves

gorgeous. The pictures do indeed speak volumes, sir. Kudos!

Thank you much! It was kind of a sloppy veg that led to some out of control stretched plants, but the next set of clones will be better cared for lol. I'm hoping to get a pretty haul this time around though

Having some pH issue at the moment. At first, I was having the issue of pH rising to 7.0 from 5.7 almost overnight. Not a huge deal, add some pH down and call it a day.

The past 2 days I've been watching the pH drop to almost 4.3 in the 12hrs of darkness. Roots still look clean and white, but they definitely aren't feeding as well, and I'm noticing more yellowing of the fan leaves (seems to be old growth .. maybe the plants just focusing on the bud? ). I'm also noticing the res water is "foamy" ... Not terribly so, but there are some pretty structurally sound bubble formed on top of the water

I'm just adding pH up once a day to combat the symptoms , but I'm worried about the underlying issue that's causing the res water to get so acidic.

I change my res about once every week or 2 depending on ec, and I add about 20mL of 3% H2o2 to the res after cleaning. I clean with a 20% bleach solution, and then let a full res of clean water pHed to 5.6 sit in the res while I work on the feeding solution to hopefully neutralize any bleach that leeched into the plastic bucket.

Any thoughts or ideas into the issues I'm having? The girls go to lights out in about 7hrs, I can update with pics if that helps.

Seem to have kicked the issue in the ass. Completely changed the buckets out with new, clean ones filled with pHed nutrient water last night. As of ten minutes ago, water was still 5.8. I usually change buckets about 4 times through the grow, but I think I'm going to switch every time I change res water, with a thorough cleaning in between uses.

The fan leaves are really starting to show the lock up, but the plants keep on going.

Got the girls as clones from a friend, he's seeing flower times of about 70 days ... seems a little on the early end for sour d though. with the issues I've been having, I'm thankful I'm over halfway there. Whatever it is, it smells - and outside of the yellow fan leaves looks - lovely so I'm not that upset.
