Outdoor Drying??

Well, I can't keep my mind off my next outdoor crop. I've only done 4 or 5 each season(giving me two females, usually) so I usually get around 2lbs. That alone was already a problem with the smell of harvesting and drying, curing is fine, cause it's in jars most of the time. Well, this year I'm aiming for maybe 6-8 females. I just can't bring myself to harvest all of that in my house, too smelly.

So I'm wondering, has anyone tried harvesting and drying outside, maybe in a cardboard box or something along those lines? I'm thinking maybe get one or two of those dress boxes that are like..4 feet high, camouflage them up nice, cut a couple holes in the box, and put them in the fence where I just had my plants growing to keep the deers from chompin' on em. Bugs are the most of my concern...I supposed I could get some herb repellants..they should last throughout the time of drying. And once they're all done drying just can 'em up, and bring 'em in. Or even leave them outside, since they'd be in jars, nice and safe from critters...let me know what you think. I like to preoccupy myself with future outdoor grows.

I guess I would just want to make sure that they won't get stolen. I guess it also depends on climate, its 30 below here so I won't be drying outside, but as long as it isn't too hot, dry, or sunny than you'll be fine. Just check them regularly until their ready to be cured. If anything outside should speed up the process. Personally though if I have already waited for my buds to mature I will dry them slow and cure them slow. like you said though a box could work, I would give it at least a little ventilation though.
