Outdoor growing rules

What requirements are there for backyard growing? Is my fenced in, locked gate back yard good enough? Personal medical grow, 12 plant max.

Laws differ from state to state. Make sure children don't have access in any way. Guns are a big NO in my state - Police are very interested in anyone making concentrates of any kind that make a house blow up. Your laws should be easy to find on the net... Good Luck - It's a long way to the finish line.

these laws are very specific in our state of MI. Your proposal will not suffice

House Bill No. 4851 (H-7) as amended May 2, 2012

(A) THE REGISTERED QUALIFYING PATIENT TO WHOM THE MARIHUANA PLANTS BELONG.

(B) THE PERSON DESIGNATED THROUGH THE DEPARTMENTAL REGISTRATION

(3) EQUIPPED WITH FUNCTIONING LOCKS OR OTHER SECURITY DEVICES THAT PERMIT ACCESS ONLY BY THE REGISTERED PRIMARY CAREGIVER OR REGISTERED QUALIFYING PATIENT WHOSE PROPERTY THE STRUCTURE IS LOCATED UPON.

I've been seeing greenhouses pop up everywhere here in Michigan, a lot of them aren't even close to being legal. Passed a fairly new one this weekend on the way back from up north that was far from legal.
Beautiful professionally built, with about a 500 gallon water tank next to it. It's blatantly obvious what they are doing.
Their "locked and enclosed facility" had a 4 ft chain link fence around it's entirety and that's it, not attached to the structure, with enough room to drive a riding mower through.

Am I wrong to think that the basic greenhouse plastic is far from being sufficient enough to be considered "Secure"?

The definition of the law states "BY CHAIN-LINK FENCING, WIRE MESH, WOODEN SLATS, OR A SIMILAR MATERIAL THAT PREVENTS ACCESS BY THE GENERAL PUBLIC"

IMO the cheapest and easiest way is some treated 4x4's for posts, 2x6's for headers and footers, some plastic and a roll of AG fence. Very basic, yet 100% secure AND legal.

Is it too late to plant from seed outdoors? I just got my card at the end of June, I sprouted 4 white widow seeds in wet paper towels last week and now have them in cups. I know it's way late for outdoor growing but I'm going to try it anyway because I don't have funds to build a room indoors just yet.

its never too late depending on your expectations. initiate flower with an extended dark period then put them outdoors.

I have low expectations but I just wanted to get something growing. I've never started seeds so late in the season. I have over 100 of these seeds so I'm not really worried about wasting them.

Start them with outdoor lighting and add a couple hours under florescents every night for 7 nights after they come up(20+ hours of light a day) and then leave them outdoors and that should force them to flower. I'd grow them in buckets that can be moved indoors and out thru the whole grow. I've finished them up in buckets by bringing them in at night thru the month of october. The warmer temps by being brought in at night will speed things up also. Once it gets cold at night growth slows a bunch.
