Overfilling bucket?

so I'm a week and a half into flower and topped off my buckets. Didn't realize how much my roots have grown and water got a bit lower then I normally let it. So when I went to top off I over filled, probably to about one inch from the brim of the bucket. Since then they look "over watered". I guess my question is have any of you guys noticed over filling your bucket make your plants appear to be "over watered"?

Yeah, I'll fill my buckets well into the net pots if i need them to go a coupe extra days. They get droopy for a day, usually untill they drink it down a little.

if it stays submerged too long it may die, i lost one like that except its cup had fallen into the solution, it was in the back so i didn't notice right away and it was dead in under a week. They were nearing end of life so i didn't pay attention to the bottom dying leaves til it was too late

I run mine consistently 1 - 2" above the base of the netpot. This allows for more lateral growth of roots through the sides of the netpot - as well as all the way to the bottom of it - as opposed to thick ropes. It promotes up to 20% more root area which means more growth up top. However, I don't ever use any kind of rapid rooter or rockwool that could retain moisture, causing overwatering symptoms. I grow out the roots on my clones first before transplanting them into the netpots.

If there is any kind of rapid rooter or rockwool used, then yeah - a lower level than what I run is definitely advised.

Alright guys through trial and error the exact cause of the issue was not the fill line so much. Usually I swap out my air stones monthly. Well this time around I simply added another line and stone to each bucket. With the size of my air pump this effectively doubled the volume of air(warm since the pump is in room). This in turn kept the buckets temperature much closer to that of the room during peak hours(78F) the rise in temperature was more then counterproductive to the extra air that was being added (warmer water holds less oxygen.) I removed the second(old) air stone and line and I am able to fill to my old "full line" which is an inch or two above the bottom of the net pot.

Basically, you were drowning your plants?

Sounds like it, with the lower DO levels down there from the heat. Good job. Knowing is half the battle. (lol)

Yes effectively drowning them lol. They were wicking water like crazy searching for oxygen. It was crazy the leaves were wet to the touch in a low humidity room.....

I thought I was going nuts so I grabbed a papertowel and pressed it against the towel and you could see where the paper towel was wet.

That's crazy bro, 20years never seen that, leaves soaked like that.. crazy man. SOOOOO lucky you got this resolved.. that was mold death weed waiting to happen.

Yea I mean it didn't drench the paper towel but left some wet marks on it to verify my sanity lol. Leaves were thick like felt.

So green poison is next. And then I get to pick from white widow, thc bomb, or hash plant. Leaning towards widow.

Bud sites are starting to swell already!
