What's up everyone, have a little grow I am wanting to share with the community for anyone who wants to tag along. Specs are as follows...

SYSTEM:
Oxygen pot six site only using 4 of the six sites (with a few mods to the system) in a 5x5 tent

LIGHT:
1000w mh veg
1000w horti eye hps flower
Galaxy digital dimmable ballast

COOLING:
6" 440cfm eBay special fan and filter combo
12k btu portable a/c

NUTRIENTS:
Atm GH flora micro/bloom, calmag, rapid start
Stealth r/o 150gpd

Very simple setup and all in well under 2k dollars. I am starting this grow to really test my own abilities as far as what I can pull off of a single 1k watt. These pics are current and clones have been in the system for about 7 days. I will do my best to update with photos at least every 7 days.

Subscribed. I have a similar setup. Just a 4x4 tent though and I went over board and am running 8 plants. I think you'll be happy running the 4 that's what I'm going to do after this run it's really crowded and tough to get to the middle plants. I'm running air bubblers in my pots because they are the older style that don't drain all the way and noticed when I flood they splash water out the top. I had to setup my air pump on a timer so it shuts off during floods. Just something to look out for if you decide to pump air in there.

Nice, this system is not running flood and drain, I have the control bucket set to constant drain cycle and the full pump is on a separate timer set to kick on every 2 hours for 30 min, fill pump is plumbed to that manifold in the center that top feeds the plants. I like it better this way.

It looks like that would work good for keeping down the risk of build up in the medium. I may try something like that in the future. For now I'm just trying to get through this run with some bud to smoke in the end.

Ya I'm hoping it works well for me but never tried it this way should be interesting. I really do like the new buckets on this system. I subbed to your thread hope all goes well for you man.

I'm interested to see how it works for you as well. My setup isn't the best now because I didn't have the oxygen pots when I started. I had started with promix in smart pots before I came across a deal on it.

What's your plans for your next grow? Pro mix still or a different medium?

I don't know for sure yet. Most likely something different like hydroton or the gro blocks but haven't decided yet. Unless I end up getting good results like this if I do then this might not be half bad. I don't know a whole lot yet but I'd think it gives some soil like benefits like pH buffering (my pH stays between 5.6 and 5.9 unless I add water and then the nutes put it back in range) and in the case of pump failure or power loss they still have plenty of water in the medium. I could be wrong this is my first grow after all. But it also would make separate vegging easy by being able to just hand water them and then drop the pots into the system when I switch. I never would of tried the promix method had I already had the system but I had acquired everything else I needed but couldn't find a good deal on a hydro system and I couldn't afford new so I started a regular grow and wouldn't you know a couple weeks later I found 2 oxygen pot 6 bucket systems with 2 gorilla grow tents ( need zippers fixed) and an array of other supplies for $300 ( a care giver passed away and his wife had already sold lights and environmental controls and just wanted to clear out the garage so I got what was left) so I dropped them in and figured at the very least it's be easier to water and mix the nutes.

I'm going to have some time between this grow and my next the wife doesn't like it in the house and I want to go perpetual so I'm going to construct a 12x20 building to setup in. I'll see how you do with yours. It looks like Perlite? Maybe I'll try that if I'm not happy with these results and it works well for you. I've just started looking into different nutrients. People seem to have good luck and save alot of money with the Jack's hydro powered nutes. It's a 3 part system I believe and you get 25lbs of each part for $50 each and you use a couple grams per gallon. It should last a long time. I don't like all the residue I get in my res from the fox farm but I'm already invested for this one.

Nice, you do what you can and roll with what you got. Your ladies look happy and healthy so I'm sure you will do good. I use chunky perlite for my medeum and it works well I just like top feed better than flood and drain. It's a decent system although I had some gripes with this system. There was no check valve for the return line and the grommets have a few leaks ( I fixed leaks with hose clamps) but all in all not a big deal or super expensive but none the less things that should have been looked at.

Ya I hear that the wife doesn't like me doing things in the house ether (understandable especially when you have kids, which I do) best thing to do is cunstruct a building like you mentioned it's a good idea and I have used chunky perlite for a few years now with great results, just need to keep a eye on pumps and everything making sure they don't go out. This was a top feed system I ran a couple years ago with good results. 2 4x8 trays, 4 1kw, top feed with chunky perlite. Worked well.

Yes we do have kids. It's all legal here now but still she doesn't really like it. I'd rather have it out there anyway so I don't have to worry about anyone unplugging anything or messing with anything. Those do look good. I was considering a smaller flood table for veg depending on what medium I decide to use on the next round.

Been a week and all is looking well. Sitting at 600 ppm. Ditched the screen as I may have to move these soon and didn't want them to be tied down to a screen. They where topped last sat and will be doing some minor super cropping to keep them as flat as possible, thinking maybe another week of veg.
