Pair of White Widows

Total cost of set was under $300, doing a very basic grow before investing real money so I can get a feel for the process. Also looking at doing some topping, LST and scrogging at this small scale to get used to the process.

Not expecting (or aiming) for more than 1oz/plant, if everything is going well I’ll be doing some cloning and expanding the set up for bigger yields.

Set up:

300W LED from Vipar Spectra

2 x 2 x 4 grow tent

Seeds: White Widow Fast feminised from Seedsman

4” scrubber with 76cfm exhaust - purely to contain smell, heat no issue in the tent

Week 1

Beans sprouted after 3 days using the paper towel method and 2 days later poked their head out of the soil. Was on 24/0 for the first few days before moving to 18/6, also moved my light up to 24” from about 16” after noticing some slight curling of the leaves.

End of week 2 - 14 days from Germination

Had some excellent growth after repotting into better (less woody) potting mix but looks like I've over watered, something to monitor.

Apologies for the colour, taken under lights

One of the seedlings failed to transition into the new soil so I'm going ahead with a single plant in SCRoG. FIMed today after excellent growth over the weekend, going to see how well I can fill up the 2x2 over the next 3-4 weeks before flipping to flower.

Unfortunately I have to flip to 12-12 early, possibly moving in January :(

I have already FIMed earlier this week but tonight I started some gentle manipulation to get some light onto the undergrowth

I don't think my FIM attempt actually did anything (FIM the FIM??) so I've gone with some LST to expose the undergrowth nice and early and get a nice even canopy - If anything looks off let me know 20171126_201308.jpg

Day 12 of flower, trying to get some of those fan leaves out of the way. Changed to a bloom type fertiliser (1-3-7) tonight for a half strength feeding.

Currently watering about every 3 days (750-1000ml) and feeding once per week

Getting very nicely pungent now as well.

Any tips, tricks and comments always welcome.

Just a standard seedling raising mix with about 1/5 perlite (we don’t have fox farms in this country)

Getting good results compared to the original potting mix

Day 40 of grow, day 19 of flower. Buds are definitely forming now, a little more training and I have 11 bud sites with roughly even access to space and light with another 3 that are a few days behind in development and will get some more light with training.
