CXB3590 DB bin changes everything but people need to run them 50w or less it jumped from 56% to 60% efficiency but people are stuck on price not performance. BTW the Full spectrum Chinese COBs do work I'm waiting to add some to my grow to show people not just say they work but to prove a point. Hey what about the new Chilled that light has the spectrum coverage and I might give it a test run like I did the Quantum board
Cool, ive been looking at and curious about Chilled myself and honestly if i had the option to wait that was the direction i was leaning. A ballast blowing up right when i have plants ready to flower forced a purchase asap tho.

Driver won't blowup if you use a quality driver. We don't use ballast in the led world

Well aware, it was an inherited free donation that i was using until i could do the appropiate research to get quality LED lighting and you must have overlooked i said hps moving to led. Maybe i said that in the other thread? either way. I thought id be able to finish this grow with it while i learned and researched. I thought wrong it lasted about 3 weeks.

That sucks I used to own Mars leds that's why I make COB lights now and I feel you I was a led newbie 2-1/2 years ago and had to learn from a few mistakes lol. We all do at some point in life.

Yea well it was a clusterfuck of circumstances. The free donation was an old shoplight that wasnt being used anymore, basically an oldass floodlight that was a 600w that grew legs and walked into the trunk of my car at work. A friend gave me an end of life cycle but still alive bulb to put in it, was more than adequate as a temporary solution, just too temporary lol.

Right now im leaning towards two HLG-185H-24A each running 8 strips for the flexibility of 2 seperate units. You seem to know your stuff, any insight would be welcome. The goal is to max out those boards and run them as hard as i can, eventually more lighting will be added and those run softer but this is a quick solution for a month or two.

For some reason arrow doesnt show the stats, heres the same ones @ digikey.

basically i wanna run them as balls out as i can for the current crop and next crop there will be some additions. You think that driver choice is a good one? or am i totally off base.

I know I saw the same thing lol the datasheet show they are 22-24vf. One thing I noticed is you'll need some optics if you want to grow big plants. I'll be chopping some plants down in 4-5 days maybe sooner because the plants are falling over lol they are 4' tall well 6 out of 8

Which strips did you get because there is 3 different bins with different ma ratings

Optics is something i was already considering, thats likely for the next run in a month or two. Ledil seems to have some that are matched right to those boards, i just dont have the room to veg too much longer so im hoping to be able to power up those strips by monday and my own self doubt on driver choice is whats holding me back.

I'm firmly on the side of optics and lenses vs reflectors. I think they simply do a better job of putting photons where we want them.

Yea thats something im already looking at mostly from what ive read from you ttystikk. I was looking at the ledil ones which aparently are already made to fit these.
