did you soak the cakes before placing them in the SGFC? the light question wasnt douchey, no worries. Soak the cakes in sterile water for 12-24 hours. i have gotten away with less soak time but had to resoak again later when i saw pins forming. It actually helped form even more pins and yielded really well in just one flush.

When you say soak the cakes, are they submerged? Half in water? Is that a step that I forgot? Or just a troubleshooting option! Thank you a lot for the advice!!

Missed step!! But not to worry. Just submerge them over night for around 12 hours to resaturate them. Do this after each flush. If you notice gnats in your sgfc later, you can assume there is larvae on your cakes. Dunk the cake for an hour to drown out the larvae and hopefully wash off eggs. Its a pain. Also prepare traps for the gnats. This is where micropore tape on the holes would help but that would also mean less air exchange. Its a balance I guess.

just went to the local store and picked up my mushroom grow supplies...

it literally costed me 100-200 dollars to get the whole entire lab set up.

I shall be eating My own home grown mushrooms in 8-10 weeks.
