hey all,
got a vigorously rooted clone in a 5 gal bucket (DWC) that i started w/ distilled h2o. the tap water in my place has a ph of 8.8. given that i lower it w/ph down, will it be all right to use? obviously, buying distilled h2o weekly would get really really expensive.. thanks for your input, this is my first hydro grow. :joint:

You can use the water by all means but you are going to have to let it sit out first for the crap in the water to disapate, once that has been done add your nutrients and then change the ph, you say your growing hydro i usually start the young ones of with a balanced 6 ph and then drop it to 5.8 after a couple of weeks. It sounds like your in a hard water area so maybe some hard water nutes would be good if they area available to you

Nutes that are specially designed for use with hard water... Reverse Osmosis water still needs to be PH'd but all the filtering from the reverse osmosis proscess (there are usually filters too) can provide great water for YOU and your garden... They have water filling stations everywhere where I live (US) and you can buy 5 gal for a buck. I personally use lemon juice for the lowering of PH
