I have been having a problem from the get go with my PH bottoming out once I add my nutrients. I thought the complete op[posite was supposed to happen. After adding my already diluted mixture (they are young) it goes way under 4.0 (It is bright red) Could my Nutrients be bad, they are about a year old. This has been happening since I started growing (only a couple of weeks) Oh and the PH of the water before is perfect at 6.5. Does anyone have a clue what's happening. The 1st time it happend I added baking soda(base) to bring it up, it worked but I haven't done it since then since I really didn't think the plant should have baking soda going through it. I have been diluting my mixture by almost the full amount to get it right. I have 1.25 gal res. So it's small and I end up adding fresh clean water to it by about a gallon to get it right. Thank you in advance for any help or words of wisdom you can offer.:blsmoke:

You need to use a bigger res. How much of your 1.25 gallons are used for each watering? And how much is left afterward? Do you top off with plain water?
The kind of nutrients you use can make a difference, too. With organic nutes, you should mix and let sit for 24 hours, then adjust.

Thats good information PR. I have wondered why sometimes when I check my water the next day the ph is always way off. I have wondered if thats what it does after I feed the plant. I assume it does.

Back on topic, You are going to have to purchase some ph up. Or get another fertilizer. But since your starting ph is a little low I am sure you will still need to adjust. Just buy a ph kit off the net.
