pH help please

Hey everyone just a quick question.
So today i got a new pH meter as ive been a bit unsure about my old one. Sure enough when i checked it with the 6.86 pH solution it read 8.0!! :o
So on one hand im glad because my plants have been showing a few signs of deficiencies and im hoping this will be the answer to all that, but my question is, how long will the plants take to show signs of improvement?
They arent too bad at all but obviously have been getting watered with very off pH!
Also im growing in a mix of roughly 50% soil, 30% coco, 20% perlite.
Im using canna terra vega nutes but am thinking of switching to canna bio nutes as im not overly convinced on the terra.
They are in a 1.2x1.2 tent currently under 400w hps but will switch to 600w in flower.
Also are hyper fans worth the money? Im thinking of buying one next week as my dedicated vent fan for the tent as the light is a cooltube and will run a seperate fan.

Yeah its callibrated now, they are both just cheap ones and it was just easier to get a new one that came with ph solution rather than buying it separately haha

To actually answer your question.

Visual plant response will take 5-7 days for soil, and 3-5 days for hydro applications (including soilless).

NO damage to a leaf will show any "reapair", except for N problems!
You must look for changes in the new growth!

Hyper fan? Depends on what you need the fan to do! hyperfans will clear or turn over the air in the room faster....Most likely not what you need!

Ok cheers ill keep an eye on the new growth and hopefully its all good now.
As far as the fan goes i have pretty high temperatures where im from so ill vent the air outside through a window but this will be after approx 1.5-2m of ducting. So i need something thats going to have enough power to manage this 24/7.

Those powdered sol'ns aren't all that accurate unless dissolved in pure water. Best to get the pre-mixed calibration sol'ns and if thrifty using them a 500ml jug will last for ages. Just around 15 mls in a small plastic shot glass like those on a bottle of Pepto-Bismol are great. Enough to cover the probe tip is plenty. Don't pour the used stuff back in the bottle. I recently got a pack of 30 1oz plastic shooter glasses in the party supply section of a bargains store for $2. Lifetime supply! :)

Along with good calibration sol'n you should get some storage sol'n to keep the probe properly hydrated when not using it. Will prolong the life of the probe. Some calibration sol'n diluted with water will do tho not as good. And NEVER store the tip in RO or distilled water as it will destroy it fast. That permeable glass ball is filled with a salt sol'n that will leach out into pure water and render it useless.

:peace:

You can buy a pint bottle of calibration solution for about 10 bucks.
