photomorphenesis

Has anyone had the chance to deep dive and explore differences in photomorphenesis relation to production of different cannabinoids ? Or main group CBD / THC .. Some research show increased production of THC relative to concentration of UV-B.

I'm mainly interested in knowing if someone have knowledge of a nanometer or spectrum group related to increase/decrease in CBD production.

From any research I've done. Genetic's of the plant is still the only effective way to increase CBD to THC ratio's in any cost effective manor.

The basic explanation to UVB would go like....

"Enhanced UVB radiation stimulates production of phenolics and flavonoids that serve a protective role by accumulating in leaf epidermal cells and attenuating UV radiation before encounters of sensitive processes in mesophilic cells. Synthesis of bulk methanol soluble UV absorbing compounds increases by 10% following enhanced UVB radiation."

..This fits all plants response to UVB exposure. Again - this would be in direct relation to the genetic ability of the plant to produce any potential amount of CBD

Understand?

It would be nice if someone actually tested the concentration of compounds obtained from cuts of the same mother of a generic strain with a flatline spectrum of about 800 µmol m-2 s-1 then test the resulting product after a 20% increase of one per each spectrum group uv- a,b,c, far red, amber, and blue, throughout the flowering faze, to see the actual photomorphenesis caused by each spectrum.

I should have done this when I had 12 heliospectra lamps, but I didn't get the time to.

Was just wondering if perhaps someone else got around to doing any similar test, and be willing to share the results.

Thanks to Dr.Who for the nice input on UV-B. Where did you obtain that quote? I get that an increased carbolic acid (phenolic) will easily divide in to the two H3C molecules in THC .. but CBD does not have those molecules, so I am a bit puzzled about weather or not UV-B will actually increase CBD
