Hey all. Newbie here. So, i ve made this, from the things i ve found home. I will but more and powerful (also with diffrent spectrum) bulba and also mylar. I m low on budget this week and my babies needed a waaay better light. I ve hâd a halogen reflector 150w and a nail dryer thingy box(some litlle w cfl)+ no money, and panic has kicked in. So yesterday i was lurking in my yard and found that plate with no connections, a wire and some bulbs. So i ve wired 3 bulbs to go in to the socket. I will put maybe in a day or two, three double *(things)* for more bulbs on the existing sistem, so i would have 6 bulbs(spectrum and over 40 w cfl each). For reflector (till i but some mylar) i ve ușed a white shiny backpaper sticker, and some aluminium duct tape. So....what do You think? Pace

I tried something like this way back in the day. Cheap lights are better today than what was available 30 yrs ago. I used an aluminum foil turkey pan as a reflector. Duct taped wire clothes hangers to it and bam! ;) Oh, the cord to the white plug in your timer could use a little love. Better safe than sorry.

For mylar on the cheap look for survival rescue blankets. Less than $2 each and measure 5x7'. I got a pack of 10 on ebay for $7 shipped.

Good luck!

Can't really tell from the pics, but if that electric is on the floor, you should probably address that..
Pretty sure the rule of thumb is anything wet is waist down and anything electric is waist up.
Other than that, I'm sure what you have will buy you another week or two. I understand the budget issue for sure.. Even if it's not optimal things will still do the trick, just don't expect optimal results of course.
Best of luck!
