Guys i got a bad problem. PLants are about 5 weeks old and they are starting to weaken an brown towards the bottom of the stocks and fall over underneath there own weight. Im using a basic aerogarden and the floragro/micro/bloom nutes. i have proper temps and circualtion plus an airstone in my resevoir. Any thoughts on what is causing this?

how does the top of ur plant look. if the top looks good then you should be fine. just snip the bottom leaves that are dying. this is normal for most cases. Also it might be due to lack of light on the lower end. try and get another light source to maximize the growth and light intake. take a look at mine. im using the same nutes. its under "new clones in AG" thread.

I don't know how well the ag nutes work for full size plants but i love the ag nutes for my lowryders. its like they were made for lowryders. I would like to experiment with a larger plant one day but i'll have to wait until i can get some cfl's . Peace.

when i used the AG nutes i didnt have any good experiences. they seem to dity up the water (not literally but it just looks messy) i like to keep my shit clean so i stick with liquid nutes. the build up of salts and other shit is less too. im just speaking from experiance im not trying bash ur advice.

how much nutes are you giving them?

I went off the feeding chart that came with the nutes. i made sure it was based off 1 gal cuz thats about what the rez is for an aerogarden. I used 2 teaspoons of each. I have only added nutes twice in a week. I always mix them with water before i add to. Would over nuteing them cause this timber effect?

kronic,

if your using the floragro, micro and bloom you need to mix them correctly or your gonna ge nute lock up.

for veg use:
3 gro
2 micro
1 bloom

for flowering:
3 bloom
2 micro
1 gro

These numbers are teaspoons per gal. the AG is about 1 gal so follow the above feeding schedule. this should fix your problem. good luck and post some pics!!

PS. you only need to add nute every 2 weeks when you change out the water. remember water will evaporate so add reg distilled water to top the reservoir. there should still be nutes left for the plants to feed off of.

well it could be. if all your other shit, lights fans, temps, etc..., are good then i would assume its the nute levels. even though your not over nuting, the ratios are off, so you might be getting lock up. well twice a week is over nuting haha cut that down to once every week or two and when you put nutes in, make sure you change the reservoir to fresh distilled water. **Plants like fresh nute filled water** :)

ok awesome bro, ya i have heard that method before. so you do think that over nutration was what caused this?

I am thinking about buying the AeroGarden Deluxe and it has an extention that takes the top 24 inches high. And, it has three bulbs.....
Anyone use the deluxe unit yet?
Peace to all

No, I haven't used the deluxe version, but the extra height would certainly help you plant more than lowryder 1 & 2.

ok for any growing in the closet you need the basics

1 constant air flowing in and out of your growroom now if you have a vent in your closet run your exhaust out it. if not you have two options cutting a duct yourself and exhaust it out side or into the roof or leaving your closet door open constantly.

2 another hard task to keep in a closet is your humidity stable always check your humidity constantly. make sure you have a good hygrometer you need to keep your humidity in between 55% AND 70%
if its less than 55% then use a spray bottle and spray water into the air also you can put a small bucket of water in the room and let it evaporate

hopes this helps
( in the end were all just chalk lines on the concerete drawn on only to be washed away for the time that ive been given I am what I am{some kick ass band}

Hey fellow herbalists! I have suggestion to make if anyone is growing in an aerogarden and finding their babies are out growing it... Try the Lowryder auto flowering strains from the Joint Doctor. Because there is no veg stage the plants flower automatically after a few weeks, grow to 16inches and are ready for harvest in 8-9weeks. Perfect for the more discreet enthusiast : )
