Finished a few veg lights for the new clone / veg boxes. Had some extra drivers, heatsinks, cobs fans etc.
4 cxb3590 5000k. 72v
2 hlg 120h c1050bs
6 artic f12s (2 pulling as outtakes for the boxes)
2 apv 12-12s
Heatsink usa heatsinks etc.
Seem to be working just fine. Slightly warm to the touch and been running 36h straight.

This one is for lettuce, the next one will be 6 strips at .9a
I've been running the strips for over an hour and they are pretty warm at .7a - I'm thinking not to overdrive them - the next build will be the same I think, 700ma.

I ordered these for my cheapo eBay box (signature) and finally put them together.
I'm not sure how hot it gets yet in running them now, underdriving them half of their max current.

The strips would work perfect for a 2x4. They are cheap and easy to cool.
Although the above thread uses Bridgelux EB strips, I just ordered 10 of the M-series C at 4000K from Arrow. Arrow's price and shipping are hard to beat. 33.6 blazing watts per strip at test. https://www.arrow.com/en/products/si-b8t341b20ww/samsung-electronics

Too late to change plans as I have the Dozen CXM22s already in my posession.
I know its overkill, but thats the way I like it
Running at 700ma then dimming as needed, but enough for a bigger area in the future

OK, I have 8 Vero 29s in 2 rows of 4 over a 2x4 foot grow box and it works great. 1 cob per square foot and I shoot for 15 par watts a square foot. 3 rows of 4 cob bars would be VERY even light coverage and you could drive each cob even softer!

I have 12 Cree cobs in my other 2x4 tent and works great, but my layout could be better, so want to get it better this time. It seems even spaced still has more light in middle for some reason
I have seen this for 8 cobs in a square tent to avoid hot spot center:

Yes I think that is better. So many cobs on the outside you don't need one in the middle

What about your tent? Is it silver or white reflective? You can download a lighting simulator for your PC, or just use photoshop with circular gradient to transparent and overlap them to see where your hotspots will be.

I think I will go with 8 cobs to start with, and then decide after this run is over if I need to add the other 4 cobs.
The cobs arent gonna spoil in the pack in the cupboard, and I can buy 4 less heatsinks today.
Just need to decide on the heatsiks now
