Plant indentification!

Anyone know what this is? Its a plant we've had growing on the windowsill at the shop for a while, was getting too big for its pot so I scissored the rootball to cut some of the new shoots away with roots attached, and this is one of those shoots, don't have a clue what it is though. Takes a normal amount of water, grows relatively slow and is happy just on the windowsill so isn't particularly light hungry, or nute heavy. The bigger plant looks like a thick stem with a single leaf coming off each alternating node.Cheers!

I think Bustin is correct. Especially with the shiny leaves. Have you waxed or cleaned the leaves?

Also, where did the cutting come from? After a look at the stem, there is a slim possibility it could be something like an edible Indian or Asian green.
