Running a 400wat HPS, No nutes yet, going to start 1/4 strength veg flora nova nutes next time I water. I water about once a week. They are about a month and a week old. The only reason I havent fed yet is the soil I used for transplanting already had nutes in it. Ideas?

Ok heres the update... Max temp: 82.5 Min temp: 62.2 Current Temp: 79.3

as for Humidity Max Humidity: 52% (happened during the night cycle when the temp went down) Min Humidity: 24% Current Humidity: 29%

I thought that it might be getting to cold at night, also I know the humidity is low.

Its getting worse... I really am confused on what I need to be doing, help me save my babies :(... Here are some pics. I tried to make the spots as visible as possible but I still cant figure out the camera fully.

Here are some more pics for everyone. Hopefully you can see the issue Im talking about. Someone that has expierenced spotting like this or might know the issue hit me up pleaseeeee... Ive noticed extreme stunted growth, I mean there still getting bigger but at a very decreased rate and I need this to be done by april 1st. Im going to my dads tonight and jacking a space heater... hopefully I can figure out how to set it up to where it stays around 75 degrees during the night cycle. But that still leaves the humidity issue, please hit me up, thanks all!!!!!!!

night temps above 60 are fine. run the humidifier on the same timer as your lights. if you find that you need to run it at night then do so only if you have a fan going and never in late flower.

So you think by getting a humidifier it will solve these problems? should I flush my plants? or just continue regulare watering schedule? Im starting nutes on their next water.

you are overwatering the plants already. no flush necessary. don't be afraid to let the soil dry. it will feel very light before the plant needs more. you don't have to water to the the point you get runoff. nutes = good shit.

calcium and magnesium deficiencies. you are using hydro nutes? generally you don't see this problem in soil.

get some cal/mag (best) or some molasses and epsom salts to remedy. damaged leaves will get slightly greener, but will never fully heal. look for results in the new growth.

I dont understand how I could be overwatering when I water once a week. I water till I see about 10% runoff into the drainage containers. Havent used nutes yet as the soil I used for transplant had nutes in them . I will be using flora nova nutes when I water next. So im still kinda confused on what im doing wrong. the whole setup and whatnot with more pics and stuff is in my grow journal if you need more info etc. to diagnose it. https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/42578-first-grow-bagseeds-come-take.html#post452486

i'd also like to add that your gh buffers to 6.0 ph, and that might end up causing some issues down the road (like clawing and stunted growth that you're experiencing now). it might help to ph your nutes up a lil bit before feeding.

I don't think your overwatering at once a week. I also don't think humidity is an issue - I run 20 to 30 percent all the time. I do think you have a nute deficency like kindprincess said. I can't verify what type of deficency but if you haven't used nutes and they are a 6 weeks old you are fine to give them some nutes. I would try a dose of a good grow formula nute and give them a few days to see if they respond.

But that's just my 2 cents :-)

sorry I was replying to UserFriendly when you replied. so if its calcium and magnesium deficiencies will the Flora Nova veg nutes have significant amounts of those in them? I was assuming I would feed 1/4 strength. The PH in my appartment tap water is around 8.5 alkaline. and it takes like 30 drops of PH down to get it around 6.5. Which really sucks. I dont really wanna go out and buy a crap load of bottled water so Im not quite sure what to do. Was going to try the water at my g/f's mom as she has filtered water through her fridge. Ideas? It seems to be getting worse daily, I have about 3 more days till I "should" water (watering once a weed) but the soil still seems pretty moist. Also is the temp dropping to much during the night cycle or is that ok? Also should I spend the money for a humidifier to up the humidity? Thanks so much! sorry to bombard with question, your just the first person thats got some answers <3

don't worry about the humidity, it's not going to hurt you to have it low. nor is low temps at nite.

gh is great stuff; i'm hooked on their three part formula, and love how it's totally tweakable. but, i've had cal and mag problems by using it by itself. the micro just doesn't have enough in it. i started using cal/mag with every feeding (in soil) and every res change, and have had no problems like since. also gh is canna specific, 1/4 strength of label is pretty weak stuff (not sure about the nova line, but 1/4 1/4 1/4 (tsp per gallon) of three part is already an extremely diluted mix (as directed for seedlings and cuttings).

imo, follow the label for feeding (pay attention to mix values according to plant stage of life), and you won't go wrong there. but you will need something else to clear up the deficiencies.

what exactly will I need. Will this stop when I start feeding them the nutes? or will it continue until I buy what is needed? and yeah dont wanna waste the money on the humidifier if not needed

This is what the Flora Nova Veg has in it.

Total Nitrogen (N) 7.0%
0.9% Ammoniacal Nitrogen
6.1% Nitrate Nitrogen

Available Phosphate 4.0%

Soluble Potash 10.0%

Calcium 4.0%

Magnesium (mg) 1.5%
1.5% water soluble Magnesium

Sulfur 2.0%
2.0% combined sulfur

Chelated Iron 0.1%

It has four different dosage schedules. Seedlings, Early Growth, Later Growth, then Max strength rapid growth. Im assuming I would be best with the Later Growth? which is supposed to be 2tsp per gallon. So should I do a 1/4 of that so ½ a tsp per gallon? youve been so extremely helpful!

yep, later growth. and no, go as directed on the label, don't dilute (made and tested exclusively on mmj...) and get some cal/mag, use 1tsp per gallon every feeding. then you're all set ;) if you experience burns, they will be minor, and you will know your plants are fussy, and want less. adjust accordingly.

:p

so Go 2tsp flora nova per gallon. where would the best place to get some cal/mag that your speaking of? how much they run? Is this going to continue getting worse until I feed? Cause im assuming I got at least 3-5 more days till I should water.
