Plant Problem

I've never used 20-20-20 and wouldn't advise using that if you are at vegetation stage. Make sure you use a nutrient that is much higher in Nitrogen as vegetation will benefit from a high nitrogen fertiliser. I'll double check mine later on and give you the breakdown but i think it's probably more like 20 nitrogen and the others probably half that amount...

I've not had to use any on my two plants yet as the soil is high in nitrogen anyway.

Here is a good link which you may find useful should you experience any problems once the nutes have been added...

what's the problem?

i've managed to keep my soil and water around 6.8 to 7...

ive used a small amount of vinegar mixed with the water to reduce when ph has climbed...

this is an edited post... just noriced your shot of ph decreaser so i guess you use that.

whats the ph problem?

It really is bizarre, i mean i'd say the most important thing to the plant is it's soil and if you have a good mix (yours looks like a good mix) then balancing the ph isn't a major problem. My hunch would be that it's down to the nutrients. What I will say is that the moment i added nutrients to my soil, the leaves starting burning so i layed off on mine. But your plants are posing problems i've not really seen. I mean I'm still on my first grow which is going much better than expected really but I guess so far I've been really lucky. I'll have a search anyway on here see if there's anything that can help.

I have spent quite a bit on different nutrients trying to find one that suited me, a lot of nutrients specific to indoor growing are quite a bit lower, the nutrient I am using for veg is 3-2-6, the one previous was 5-3-4, I also have an organic nutrient for veg which I used for a while which was 2-1-1. It is important to have an ec/tds/cf/ppm meter to measure the strength of the solution instead of using the guide on the packaging. You would be surprised at how little extra is required at the wrong stage to cause nutrient burn.

I've not added any nutes since my first fertiliser burn and i'm guessing that my soil contains just the right amount for my plants at this time so laying off has helped achive some good results so far. I'm gonna keep my eye on them and may well have to invest a little more time and money on the right nutes if it comes to it.

This is good advice for anyone i guess who's still a newbie with nutes so thanks nongreen...

some reputation points coming your way.

I did some research on the net, and i'm thinking the problem was a nutrient deficiency. My grow medium has almost no nutritional value because im using 1/3 soil 1/3 vermiculite and 1/3 perlite. As soon as i started adding nutes the plants started to recover and are growing once agiain.

Thanks for your help peeps.

I'm experiencing exactly the same thing right now with my one plant... i'm gonna slowly add some nutes which i've not had to do at all... vermiculite i believe helps retain nutes... so hopefully will work!

Glad you got yours sorted!
