Plants look normal but leaves feel dry????

Hey guys,
most of my babies are normal and healthy looking green with their leaves standing at attention. However, the leaves feel a little dry to the touch. Is this normal? Shouldn't they feel slightly thick and moist to the touch? I've been frequently misting them and watering them when the soil is getting dry just below the surface. Comments or suggestions would be much appreciated, thanks. :blsmoke:

i'm not sure what you mean by how they feel - but i think if they look good and healthy - they are good and healthy.

Well, you know how when you feel a new leaf and it feels kind of smooth. Well some of these other leaves feel kind of like light sandpaper. I guess that's the best way that I could describe it. Isn't there supposed to be light resin build up or is that supposed to happen further down the road? I know I could be over reacting a little bit, especially since my wife is making me a little bit paranoid about their overall health.

OK - i think i get what you mean. The answer is i don't know. but it does sound like you might be worrying yourself (and your plants) too much.

Nothing has killed my plants faster than me loving them too much :joint:

Yeah I think you're right, too much love could kill most living things . Thanks for the fast reply brudda, much appreciated :blsmoke:.

Hasanyone come up with a verdict on this...I've got two different plants in the grow room atm and one has really smooth leaves and the older of the two had really sand papery leaves, But is slowly turning smooth. Does it mean one is healthy and the other isnt?

Are they the EXACT same strain?
OP, if you could give us more info, age, feeding, watering, pics, etc.
One of my plants had some 'dry' feeling leaves, so I do know what you mean, but the leaves looked fine at the time, and it was growing fine, so I didn't worry.

I am learning as well.. but I think that it is dependent on strain.. I think.. I just solved a ph lock out problem and before the leaves were smooth. She was not smelling as much either. Now I have the ph correct and the smell came back, and also the leaves are no longer smooth.. but sand papery as you describe... so I will be watching this thread for insight. I have felt some vegetable plants that have the same tecture and they were doing great... "I just don't know capt'n, she's doing all she can" :)

Without pics it's hard to say but in my experience it could be one of two things - acidity ( u mentioned lockout) and or high temp and very low RH . More like PH.

hrm... interesting.... I had lock out and they were smooth... once I watered again, just straight water as I was adding nematodes in.. but the run off was a little high on my end 6.8 to 6.9.. so to me, in my case, the lockout was due to acidity since the ph of the nematode mix was higher (trying to bring up the ph). I am waiting for my TDS pen as I am running Miricle Grow Moisture control 6 mo. so I am sure that.. wait, question... I wonder if the PH would still go down even after the run off... damn MG... never using that piece of carp again (roots organic gnat laden... is what I am using next) I did have to top off my pot with some roots, which is 2 week feeding, hence where I got the fungus gnats (maybe).. Should have had the TDS long ago.. though I did have to bamboo the main stems today as they were starting to lean heavily... my next grow will be much more of my control.

Just found this on a cannabis culture website... interesting... do some strains not get scratchy?
"But the latest wave of cancer-related cannabis videos involves the juicing of raw cannabis leaves and buds. This method allows a person to consume much greater amounts of the medicinal ingredients in a juice form than they could if they were just eating raw cannabis leaves or buds (which are hard to swallow and digest due to the scratchy texture)."

old as dirt thread but i to am experiencing this under 24/0 light, im kinda just thinking its the no sleep and constant sweating they do i think most of the moisture has been sweated out, now that they are getting older i may switch to 20/4 and see what happens...

I've been having the same issue and just happened to come across this thread. I have to admit, this issue could be due to incorrect PH levels, but one issue I don't think anyone has considered could be the fact that they may have just over watered their plants
