Plants move instead of light movers...

I am getting things together to get my grow room setup. Last night while on some blueberry i had the idea of using like a potters wheel to turn my (round)(table the ladies will be on instead of buying a more expensive light mover. Anyone think this would work?

Yeah. I was thinking of a slower motor type maybe like a varible speed buffer where I could cut the speed to slow. However that still may turn them too fast. IDK maybe we'll here some good ideas.

Windshield wiper motor would do the trick... put a small sprocket on the end of it or small belt pulley and a larger one under the table you want to turn. The sprocket or pulley size will dictate the speed at which it turns.

Cheers,
BR.

yes it will work. There is no difference if the plants are moving or the lights are moving. I personally think if you need the extra light just buy an extra light.

its a great idea.. i think its in the new skunk magazine they have an article on this thing called rpm.. or rotational plant mover i think it is.. the rpm takes you idea even further and simulates the movement of the sun in the sky and even has a built in rez for hydroponics grows..
its not the fact that you need more light, moving your plants does much more than that.. it allows you to have no shadow areas in your garden, and eliminates the wall plants that i hate..
i'm not sure how much the rpm is as the website looks like it just went up and didn't have much info on it honestly, but i think your on to something here..
if you get a good drawing or whatever, pm me as i would love to see what the mechanic at my work could come up with for me..
