i was wondering is there a chart or somthing telling us how many plants we can grow to wats or lumens were using ? or how do you determin how much your area can handel and be sucsess full plants. Right now im starting my first grow my flower room is around 3 by 3 by 5 hydro setup pellets and water pump dripper with a 400 wat hps 55,000 lumens. My veg room is 2by2by4 hydro pelets for my control plants cubes for my clones right now i have three florecnets a plant/aquirum, cool white, natural sunlight, and a softwhite. I didnt like how that was working so i just got a 600wat mh with hood and balast im going to go setup. Should i take all the other lights out or keep some or keep all plus the 600 mh ? and how high should i hang the mh bulb there only 2 weeks in ? any helps greatfull

I would start using one of your good lights now that you're 2 weeks in. The 600 will give plenty of light for the 3x3 room. Keep it about 3 feet away for another week, then start to lower it as much as you can without burning your plants. Check for heat with your hand near your plant's canopy. The other lights are unnecessary, at least until your canopy gets so dense that the lower branches don't get any light. If you're careful this won't happen.

As for how many plants to grow, that depends on the type of grow you're doing. Sea of green would be something like one plant per square foot. We're talking one foot tall plants here, though. You could also let maybe 4 plants veg out a few feet and do a SCROG grow. Since you already have your hydro setup, let your system's capacity be a guide.

My setup sort of prevents me from doing a Sea of green due to bucket size, and I'd rather not mess with SCROG or LST. Right now I'm going to grow 5 plants with a goal of around 3-4 feet each. I'll be happy as hell if I get at least 2 ounces per plant.

Journals are always good, though I'll be skipping one for my current grow until I'm able to get a decent cam. Anyhow, good luck.
