does anyone know a cheep and effective way of regulating the ph in my soil?? i have one of those ph/light/moisture meters but it seems really shakey. i also bought the ph up and ph down but i have no idea how to effectively use it. someone help!

The best way to control ph in soil start with the soil. If you added anything to it, perlite, sand, lime etc. before planting in it this was all done to help the ph in your soil. If you didn't do any of that, not to worry, unless you didn't pay attention to proper drainage. In that case you probably wouldn't be asking these questions. You measure the ph of the water you are going to use to water your plants. If its too high add ph down as directed on the bottle. IF its too low, use ph up as directed on the bottle. Re-check ph level. Do not add ph up and ph down to the same water. If you go to far up or down add some more water or try again with fresh water. Its also a good idea to let your water sit for 24 hours to get rid of chloride. VV

hey thanks for all the info. but what product should i use that is reliable on testing ph? the ph testing liquid that i got with my ph up and ph down was reading all over the map and obviously not working.
