i thought you plant them pointy end down but when i googled it the first couple of sites told me to plant it pointy end up?? :-?

1Q - isnt the pointy end the root?
2Q - mine cracked 1.5-2 days into germ. and 1 is showing a pointy end but not improving on its root length the 2nd seed cracked earlier than the 1st seed but its not improving anymore should i start planting or wait another day?

its been 1 extra day since it cracked, 3.5 days in total (germ)

first time grower
thanx in advance for the advice

its pointy end up. when the root comes out of the point it curls and goes the other way, if you put it pointy end down it still makes that curl but then has to revert itself so the root can grow down instead of up. this causes stress and usualy takes too much of its streangth to survive.

If you plant it root down, the root can dig right in and go to work. If you plant it root UP, the root has to correct itself. Why would you want to cause your baby any complications? You wouldn't.

well im just going by the bible here. but it does make sence, how many seeds have you seen were the root comes strait out the tip? it curles and were the bend is is what is pushed through the dirt. it grows like a cane and the seed is the short end. but u know what your talking about so i would listen to you over me anyway.
