Politics and Life

since i joined this site i have encountered some fascinating, intelligent, truly great people.

i've seen people pushed to the brink of an all out Internet fist fight and i've seen people hugged by Garden Knowm. i've seen beautiful avatars of cleavage and read hilarious stories. i have learned not only great secrets of growing here but more importantly i have learned that diversity does not by default cause dissent or hostility. the godless help the God fearing. the sick give a hand to the healthy. the young extend appreciation to the old. the wise are patient with fools. this potential of harmony lives within each and every one of us.

skunkushybrid recently commented in a thread that on this site, within this varied group of people from all over the planet, we have more than enough capacity to change things for the better. i agree with him 100%, among the members of this site there is a pool of talent and energy exceedingly capable of doing great things, but what are we doing? what are we DOING?

in this thread, i hope that everyone can post an example of their ACTION toward getting marijuana legalized for medicinal use, decriminalized, ACCEPTED; anything that will open the door for greater liberty.

don't be specific if it will endanger your privacy, but simply state what you did to help. tell us how you made a difference!

Could you post a copy of this letter as well as Bill O'Reilly's email addy so that we can bombard his email?

That way we can makre sure it has been read by him.

By the logic of the article then they should take perscription drugs off the market, Abuse is something that is done in all walks of life. Be it alcohol, prescription drugs eating or anything else. Bill O'Reilly's bucket holds no water.

maybe i'll get on his show and scream in his face like Geraldo.

if everyone of us will take steady action it will add up and things will happen.

I just got through writing the paper about the article, and told them just what I said above...

I'm one of the people who writes senators and congressmen constantly.

i have been writing politicians too. following some advice from Vi i'm doing letters to the editor. also contacting my Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission.

hopefully, all the people who "want" something done will actually "do" it and keep this thread going... will be interesting to see.

Maybe Vi is who I need to get in touch with,...... I know we don't have the same opinions on politics, but we are here together for one reason....!

Geraldo clobbered O'Reilly' in that interview, 7x. It was such a pleasure to watch. *lol*

The reason O'Reilly speaks out so much on Medical mj is that he doesn't understand the relieving effect it has on folks who suffer from chronic pain. I DO believe he's correct that the medical mj laws are subject to abuse though. Nothing new there ... ALL herbs and drugs can be abused. The main problem with folks like O'Reilly is ... its not THEIR pain that being relieved.

that's why he's spinning a few isolated examples of California's lack of commons sense (legislatively) into this big scary problem of kids selling cards, street corners overflowing with "addicts"... doesn't matter to him if others have to suffer..

he needs to say that stuff on the air so he can get slammed with emails. i think he tested this spiel out on Georgia because he knows how conservative the state is.

the fact that no one has posted any action is troubling. but it does help me to understand some things.... hopefully i'm not the only one who can see the relationship between inaction and no change...

there was a huge thread about standing up and there was talk about cartoons, letters, all kinds of smack but no one comes to the table with their money. does anyone want change enough to do something about it?
