Poll: Majority of Dems has favorable view of George W. Bush

A slim majority of Democrats in the United States holds a favorable view of former President George W. Bush, according to a new poll.

Fifty-one percent of Democrats in the Economist-YouGov survey say they have a somewhat or very favorable view of the 43rd president, while 42 percent hold a somewhat or very unfavorable view of Bush.

The results come just under one week after Bush delivered a blistering rebuke of President Trump’s policies. While Bush did not mention Trump by name during the speech, he criticized foreign polices that do not combat security threats head-on and domestic policies that rebuff immigrants.

“We’ve seen nationalism distorted into nativism, forgotten the dynamism that immigration has always brought to America. We see a fading confidence in the value of free markets and international trade, forgetting that conflict, instability and poverty follow in the wake of protectionism,” Bush told a crowd at a security forum in New York.
The new online poll was conducted from Oct. 22 to 24, after Bush’s speech. The survey of 1,500 adults, 1,312 of whom are registered voters, has a margin of error of 3.1 percentage points.

A Gallup poll in June found that Bush’s favorability rating had climbed since 2016. Forty-one percent of Democrats in that survey held a favorable view of the former president.

So, his lack of self confidence showed his innate inability to confront the hard choices required of being POTUS.
As my wise father once said, you are who your friends are (stoners in my case), and if your surrounded by lying assholes and buy into their shit, you also are a lying asshole, which in my opinion, leads me to believe GWB was an idiot, that was led by his nose into a world of shit, and America along with him.

establishing a base of operations in Iraq to project regional dominance in the region independent of Israel or Saudi Arabia.

He wasn't really smart, my guess is he was below average in judgement and reasoning skills. That bit where he said "Mission accomplished" and "bring it on" from the deck of the carrier? Dumb, really, really dumb.

Man Sues Woman for $17.31 Movie Ticket After Bad Date
@ttystikk filed the claim for $17.31 last week. The 57-year-old tells the Boulder Daily Camera he met the woman online and they went to see “Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2” on May 6. He says the 35-year-old woman refused to stop texting. tty says he suggested she step outside to text. The woman then left the theater and never returned.

That's our man-virgin, stand up for your rights!!!!!!!!!!

"Mission accomplished" is a military homecoming tradition though, right? Didn't Obama ride the same wave?

Bush wanted to be seen as an everyman and he had terrible public speaking skills... not a good combo.

I hated Bush at the time but I've come to realize he loved this country and just made lots of mistakes in what was the best way to protect it (arguably due to Daddy whispering in his ear about Evil Saddam).
