pollen collection

Had a few questions regarding pollen collection.
Once pods are dropping pollen can I cut the clusters n dry them in a jar of rice?

Also can I cut the male down to 1/3 its size to eleminate unwanted pollen?

I simply remove the male flowers before they open - from all but 1 or 2 branch's. (If that's all I want to collect - sometimes much more, resulting in more branch's)
Just before they open I cover those 2 branch's with plastic bags and wait. Once the flowers are dropping the pollen real well. I shake the branch and then let the pollen collect in the corner of the bag pointing down. I clip the branch and push it into the bag.
I go outside my grow and out of the building. I open and remove the branch, discarding it safely, from the bag and seal it well. I'll tie off the end and clip it, put that in an old film can and freeze it till use.
I now remove my clothes and wash them right off. Take a good shower and then I can go into the area with females safely...
I pollinate females with a very fine soft art paintbrush dipped in my saved pollen.

My way is good for me...It'll work for you if you choose.

Pollen also stores very well in the freezer. Also don't forget the cleanup Dr. Who mentioned, every time you touch the pollen.
