I saw this go across the cbc ticker. I don't know if the vids will come up.

Good thing the pope condemns something that might help people with ptsd.

VATICAN CITY -- Pope Francis came out strongly against the legalization of recreational drugs on Friday. The pontiff told members of a drug enforcement conference meeting in Rome that even limited attempts to legalize recreational drugs "are not only highly questionable from a legislative standpoint, but they fail to produce the desired effects."

Francis has frequently railed against the "evil" of drug addiction and has met with addicts on several occasions. Just last month, Uruguay -- next door to Francis' native Argentina -- approved selling marijuana cigarettes in pharmacies, and recreational marijuana is legal in the U.S. states of Colorado and Washington.

OH NO whatever shall we do? Another misinformed/uneducated person making false claims based on religion. I guess we're even though Francis as I don't buy into what the Catholic Church is selling.

I watched the video of that sick fuck speaking and WOW...

So many things he said go directly in the face of science. He talks about replacement drugs(methadone/suboxone) being evil and 'giving' into the problem itself. Suboxone saved my life, god didn't. Asshole.

He like many other leaders, are simply uninformed about the issue. Don't be quick to throw hateful comments at someone who doesn't know the whole picture. Once legalization grows around the world and the positive outcomes are finally realized, then leaders will rightfully come into the right side of the fight.

??? really. religion is the root of all evil, wars, greed, power, and control. look at harper, hes religious. and just cause they don't know, don't mean anything! research, study, and stop fucking kids.
do NOT involve religion in anything we do. if you need to believe to get you threw life, that's your doing, in church or your own home. not in public. and should have nothing to do with others lives. imo

I feel the same way about protests over flying the GLTB flag outside city hall.
