Poppy Growing and Conversions ~ by: 420ganja420

Well I have been getting some requests to start a grow journal for my poppies and show all the proper techniques from growing to opium extracting to morphine conversion.

Let me say the following:

1) I normally do not grow the poppies I convert to morphine. I work in groups. Normally, there are 3 'sectors.' The first 'sector' is the farmer who grows the poppies and cooks down the opium. I buy the ounces/pounds/kilos (whatever is available) and I convert it to morphine base and/or morphine HCL. From there I send the morphine to another guy and he processes it into heroin. From there it goes to the dealers and to the users. There is only one 'leader' and normally many workers. My job is easy so I work alone. This provides most of us with absolute protection from narcotic detection swine to capturing us. The only ones in real danger are the farmers (for having fields of poppies) and the heroin processor for ordering acetic anhydride. I make very little money off this but it is enough to support my addition and my family without a real job. While I do have a real source of income, this pays far better than the hours I work like a slave.

2) Growing large numbers of poppies can land you in jail for conspiracy. I will not be demonstrating an outdoor growth. My growth will be indoors under artificial light using distilled water and miracle grow soil. I will not be doing that large of a production. I will simply cut a soda bottle in half, fill with soil, apple seeds, and be on my way. I am putting myself at risk because I do have the necessary tools and knowledge to do what I am doing. But the law is of no concern to me as most of them can be bribed.

3) Be aware of your legal laws on ordering items. I am not responsible if a narcotic team comes to your house and finds a grow op. I take no part in your actions. This is for nothing more but thrills and general knowledge on my culture.

4) I am starting from scratch. Expect this grow journal to take some time (up to 4 months) but I shall be consistent with postings to keep you all informed and keep my thread on the first page for easy access. So I will allow questions and comments to be shared freely. The rate of these questions being answered will vary so do not fret and keep asking the same questions. I or someone else will answer them on our own time.

5) I will be showing the techniques I once used to grow poppies, I will show how to properly score some, I will show total alkaloid extractions, and I shall show the conversion of the opium to morphine base and hydrochloride. If requested I can show the proper method for smoking opium, morphine base, and IV'ing morphine. Be aware, I do not support a new grower/converter to IV any substance he has made without knowing the quality of his product.


6)I shall reserve 4 posts. These 4 posts shall be updated weekly. Think of them as the 4 months. I may reserve 5 just so one can have the techniques....I think I will do that lol.

Gathering The Materials - Growing

In this section I will tell you all the materials you will need as well as where to get them. Pictures are included. Just be aware my digital camera is not of a high quality (so no macro shots unfortunately) but they should be somewhat OK.

1) Choosing Your Poppies

~ This is the most important item. You will need an excellent poppy strain. One which is untreated and can produce opium. On average, I would recommend using the strain Papaver Somniferum The average Papaver Somniferum seed will more than likely be the variety called Giganteum. For this grow, I shall be using a strain called Afghani. This strain is somewhat hard to find (as it is normally only cultivated in Afghanistan). I accidently stumbled across them on eBay when I was getting Giganteum seeds (the guy late sending and sent me a bonus pack of these) and when I first grew these poppies I was surprised at the opium yield and morphine yield. Definitely one of the BEST varieties of the Somniferum strain and I'm happy I have had the blessing of growing it. Now chances are you will not be able to find these, so you can just use Papaver Somniferum var. Giganteum as they grow in somewhat of the same conditions. Do not go pick up poppy seeds at Wal*Mart or any shop like such. Most of the time they will not have them or they will be treated (meaning they will produce little, if any, opium.) Go online and find some or try a botanical/flower shop. ~

2) Soil Bed and Soil

~ I am doing a small grow. What I simply did was cut a soda bottle in half and add small holes on the sides and bottom for draining. Then I just fill it with soil. It's simple really. I am using Miracle Grow. While I do not recommend it (I much prefer all natural/pH neutral soils) it works well. No real complaints except I also cultivate marijuana and I don't have any extra neutral soil to spare so I will use this one. I bought the soil a year (or so) ago so I am not sure what effect that will have on the soil. You can get soil and soil beds anywhere plants are sold. ~

3) Lighting

~ I shall be using a Lights of America (model 8050) dual-fluorescent tube lamp. I like this lamp. It is cheap and works well. I keep the light 3-5 inches away from the plants and keep and use a specific light cycle. I will cover this later. Try a home department store or light shop and if all else fails, a hydroponics shop. ~

4) Water

~ I shall use nothing but distilled water. It is not necessary but I prefer my water to be chlorine free. It's less than $1 for a galloon so if you want to use it, go ahead. I use a specific watering schedule which will be covered later. Any grocery store should have it. ~

Gathering The Materials - Extracting

For extracting, I shall be showing 2 methods; a total alkaloid extraction and a scoring technique. The total extraction will require more tools but is worth ti in my opinion.


Scoring

1) Razor (Can be bought nearly every grocery store or gas station)
2) Collecting glass (Using a cup or plate will suffice)
3) Light (Outdoors or an artificial one)


Total Alkaloid Extraction

1) Pot (You should already have one)
2) Heat source (Stove, heating plate, etc.)
3) Thermometer (You should already have one. If not, try a grocery store)
4) Light (Outdoors or artificial light)
5) Blender (coffee blender is OK)
6) Bottle (Soda bottles, water bottles, anything see through)
7) pH test strips (Try Wal*Mart or a home department store or preferably a pool store)
Pure lemon juice or lime juice (Grocery store)
9) Filter (coffee filters, cheesecloth, etc)
10) Pyrex baking dish (the longer the better. You should have one)


Gathering The Materials - Conversion

I will only be showing you how to convert it to morphine base and morphine hydrochloride, not heroin. Heroin requires the List II watched chemical Acetic Anhydride and I rather not have the police at my door again.

1) Hydrochloric Acid (20%-31.45% ~ Only needed for Morphine HCL. Can be found at home department stores called Muriatic Acid)
2) Calcium Carbonate (98%+ purity. I will be using 99.9%. You may have to order it online or from a supplier)
3) pH test strips (Try Wal*Mart or a home department store or preferably a pool store)
4) Heat source (Stove, heating plate, etc)
5) Thermometer (You should already have one. If not, try a grocery store)
6) Pot (You should have one)
7) Pyrex baking dish (the longer the better. You should have one)

Opium

Now that you are ready for the entire grow and extractions and conversion process, let's get to the growing!

Day 1

~ We are going to get everything setup for now. This means getting the soil and soil bed ready, the lights, water, etc. This should take no more than 5-10 minutes. ~

I will be growing in one of my rooms closets. The closet is not that large but it us very tall and is ready to go as is. I have everything necessary to get growing and I soon will be. Before we focus on the poppies, we must have space for them. Once that is setup, we can no fill out our soil bed with soil. Once done, sprinkle a pinch full of poppy seeds onto the soil, A pinch full of seeds can be anywhere from 1-100 seeds. Sprinkle then onto the soil and then cover the soil (top it) with more soil (just enough to cover the seeds). You should never pat down your soil. Keep it loose and nice like a gapped woman's puss lol.


Now lightly dampen the soil with a little water. That's all there is to it. Place it under a lamp with 12/12 lighting. In a few days, seedling will appear.

ONLY water it when the soil dries up. Once you see the soil dried, stick your finger in and if its moist, don't water. Wait for it all to dry before you water again.

Interesting. I'll be following along, not because I want to grow poppies or use its products (been there, done that), but because knowledge is always better than ignorance.

And the day may come when I DO need to grow some, ya just never know...

anyway this is technically the second day so nothing has happened. Nothing shal happen for the first couple days anyway. I may start to see sprouts tomorrow and if I do, I know these will yield me much better than the others.

Poppies can produce up to 100mg of opium. I get all that opium through a total alkaloid extraction. So there is 1000mg in 1g and 100mg goes into 1000mg 10 times so 10 properly grown poppies can produce 1 gram of opium.

And I now have sprouts. This strain is not one to grow easily in the beginning but like all poppies, it will learn to take care of itself.

I haven't been out so I guess I will have to use my other camera for pics.
