not surprised that they are still getting screwed over... the gov loves destroying people...like the Emery's
because they somehow think it justifies their thinking....when in actual fact..it shows the true colors of the hypocrites in gov and the legal system.

I would guess all the LP would be the victims. You know they have protect all those Politicians and former Police officers who invested in this new industry.

Since the Emery's sold to the rec market which is currently illegal for LPs to sell to as well, LPs couldn't logically be the victims. I get where you are coming from though. However, the crown could never make the case that their actions were hurting legal businesses nor that they were hurting people in a manner that created victims, only that "we are all victimized" when "crime" is committed. Rather vague. And actually, the victims are the med patients that were accessing affordable cannabis at these locations who now got fucked out of a reasonably priced supply. I wish they didn't plead guilty to this and fought it...anyways they must have had a reason.

Its all a game. The government knew that if they had arrested them there would be a huge uprise due to his previous unjustified deportation, and subsequent arrest. So they try to financially cripple them instead. Can't pay the fine....jail time

They have that option now, don't pay the fine and take the jail time instead. But that could break whatever deal they made in the back room. $500k including lawyer's fees will put a dent in their war chest for sure. Down, but not out.Marc says he offered to go to jail and they didn't listen ..
