Potting up from 1 gallon insight

At what point do you typically pot up? I think I want to go to its permanent pot for the summer 7 or 10 gallon.

Slide the pot off and look at the roots if they look nice and fill up that pot then up pot it.

Typically I pot up once the roots have filled out to the edges of the current pot but well before any hint of being root bound. Cannabis really seems to like the process of being up potted vs growing in a giant pot to begin with-not sure why but it's probably something simple like we water it better in smaller pots.
