the PPM will depend on the type of nutes used and the stage of growth. without knowing those 2 things there is no way to tell you exactly what youre wanting to know.,,, sorry

Yeah with fox farm you need all 3 bottles you only have 2 of the needed 3 your missing Big bloom Tiger is a transitional stress relivere that promotes flower sites but you need big bloom for full flower. They have a chart that goes week by week for either hydro or soil it lists ppm and ec per stage and how much of each bottle to mix in.

i use flora nova series and right on the back it has ml/g of nutes for 1/4,1/2,3/4 and full strength and right after that it tells you the ppm for each stage. but which ppm meter should i get? im not looking to spend over 30$

criket you do know that pen wont work correct? That pen only reads up to 999 ppm and most nutes will need to be able to read up to 2000 so you kinda wasted ya money as water at home starts at 200-400 pp, meaning you can only monitor 500 ppm which is only good for new cuttings.Good try though

K, instead of buying a new meter, Dilute a sample of your "soup" into one part of plain RO'd water (like bottled spring water from wal mart PPM=~4-15) Then whatever the PPM meter reads just multiply by two and Viola now you can dose up to 1998 PPM. So....

Heres how it goes :

1 part nutrient solution (after already mixed with water)(The final product)
1 part bottled water
1 ppm meter
1 16 oz cup (red party cups)

Step 1 :
mix all nutes in water.

Step 2 :
take sample from nute soup

Step 3 :
take measurment from bottled water. ( We will call this BASE)

Step 4 :
fill red party cup with 8 oz. of nute soup and 8 oz of BASE

Step 5 :
Multiply PPM reading from red party cup and subtract BASEx2.

so if your BASE is 10 and your PPM reading from the red cup is 790 then 790x2= 1580PPM - 20 for base and your PPM is acctually about 1560PPM

I might have made it too complicated but it works....

That doesnt make any sense???????? In order to have your soup or final mix youd have to be able to read the ppm up to lets say 1500 then you say dilute it then double it.That would do absolutly nothing as you need to know the original mix is 1500 ppm and if the meter wont go above 999 you will only guess what the original soup ppm is which could be anything so you might as well just use the manufactures formula per gallon and hope its close.

make your mix, dilute a sample of the mix, oone part mix one part water, water ever that reading is, you double it and that is your reading for the mix. The sample will be HALF STRENGTH of the nute mix. PPM is a ratio not a defined amount....1 gallon of water tests the same as one cup, so for ever 1,000,000 parts of water, you want, say i dunno 1500 parts of nutrient mix.. well make your mix according to instructions, take a sample and dilute it so if it WAS 1500 PPM and you diluted it with the SAME AMOUNT OF water THEN you would read 750 PPM because the SAMPLE is DILUTED. because the sample is diluted by exactly HALF 1 part water 1 part nute mix, you Multiply by 2 to get your whole number again.

EDIT:

Sorry if I came off as a lil ignorant, I am on lunch break and in a hurry, and when I said "double it" I am only talking about the reading from your PPM meter, not the mix.

fill your resorvoir put the meter probe in and add food(do not ever let that probe get dry..has a little cap thats filled with fluid refill it and replace every time!!!...display ppm and adjust accordingly also..why didnt ya buy a tri meter ph/tds/temp ph is just as important as tds and is adversley affected ,,,tds goes up ph goes down and u will need ph up and down to compansate....take that meter back and get a tri meter....
