Pre-Flower sexing problem

has anyone else experienced problems with the new strains showing pre flowers?

Sonic Screwdriver and Quantium Kush are not showing sex after week 6-7 in veg.
they are 18-20 in tall and all i can see is a little pod that looks like a crab claw. i cant tell if its male or female. its got two green appendages in a pod like structure, it doesnt have hairs but it isnt fully a pod.

all my other strains showed at week 4-5, Pandoras, 3d, chernobyl, QT, timewreck, dr w, AO, AOS,

im thinking its the new crosses because whatever strain it was that did that, is getting more diluted as more crosses happen.

i guess i am going to have to take clones and flower. i was hoping to not have to transplant everything into large pots just to find out which ones are girls.

I think the problem is whatever sized pots/medium your using... I just did the 2 worst runs of seeds that I've ever been ashamed to admit I planted...

I normally plant in 16-20oz solo cups and then transplant to a 1.5 - 2 gallon pot to sex. It always seemed like I'd transplant them too soon because I usually start in light warrior and it's either transplant or break out a bottle of some sort which I refuse to do most times and go for the transplant.. But the point I'm trying to make is I feel I'm transplanting too soon because the roots never seem established enough for my taste...

I started to think I should start germinating in a small-ish pot that I'd push just long enough to get me to the point of figuring out sex while not having to waste anything more than I had to seeing I wasn't trying to keep my males, and I wouldn't have to do the early transplant either... But what ended up happening is the pots were big enough for me to get to the point of sexing, based on them healthily reaching 45-60 days but they ended up taking WAY longer than the ones that just happened to be earlier showing, but some refused to show sex in such a small pot even though they were fed enough to keep them growing, the should have been up potted to at least 1gal minimum. I pushed to try and sex them in containers that were less than 1 gallon...

Bottom line, wrong move on my part... I like to start seeds in light warrior, used a different brand... I like to soak seeds until they ALL sink; in a certain kind of bottled water... Used RO and rushed it until a couple sank in each container and said "ahh sub don't even soak them shits...".

Just to let you know whatever happened isn't that bad in the overall/werld-wide scope o' thangs.... I attempted to germinate 15 seeds... 4 popped... Decided 4 wasn't gonna cut it so in go the other 15 (had 3 x10's) I got 9...so 13 total, I'm at 8 males and counting....

Never will I deviate from the methods that I know work well again... Even my very first time planting as a newb of newbs, I got 13 sprouts out of 15 or 18 seeds... I'm gonna just suck it up and use a organic bottled nute while they establish a good enough root zone in the cup/small pot I start them in...

Don't know what size pots you used but I'm gonna say if you tried in anything less than a 1 gallon pot... That's gonna be the problem unless your using coco as a medium...

went from rapid rooters to beer cups to one gal
they ones that sexed are now in 7g in the flowering room topped and doing well.

the other ones i had to top to stay withing my plant limits so i took clones and am flowering the seedlings.
but in 1 gal pots after 7 weeks they are root bound and drying out very quickly and out of nuts.

i found my stash of 3 gal pots, so i think i will transfer the ones i "think" might be girls into those and see what happens.

its just weird that the older TGA strains show sex at 4-5 weeks. and the newer ones are lagging behind. dont know if its genitic or environmental.

8 to 9 weeks ... I don't feel it too long for showing sex in veg cycle.
2 months is not 4 or 5 weeks.
Some are quicker than others.
Personaly, at your place I would not bother with it and wait a few more days, if not till 3 weeks.

Theres nothing wrong with putting the seedings in the flowering tent once they're 45-60+ days to force them, but I personally try not to do it unless I'm short on time... The ones I suspect of being male always go into the flowering tent to confirm but usually 2-7 days under 12/12 will tell you what they are if you cant wait (Been there) and be able to send them back to veg without any issues... Again, not my preferred method but it works...

Its crazy though, I dont wanna say it has anything to do with the genetics but it seems I really have the same issue going on, I dont keep track of lunar cycles etc... maybe even though your indoors the plants can feel its the wrong time of year or something because I literally have a "the flav" plant.. one of which I started all at the same time as the others I have going, has 4 rooted clones establishing in small pots, the seed plant is in the flowering tent for over a week now, and yet I still have 2 or 3 seedlings that I still cant get a dead read on as far as sex still in veg.. They're all starting to show but because of early topping etc... The nodes are so small I cant really tell... I could bust out a magnifying glass but I just said fuck it and transplanted them all over the last week from the small baby pots that I should have transplanted out of weeks ago, yet none were root bound at all... I really have no idea what the deal is... not sure if its something I did that made them take so long or the pots but I'm leaning towards the smaller pots... they were way too small IMO.... I was looking at my tags 2 nights ago as I transplanted them to 5-gal smarties and they were planted on 6/7.... Thats a long fuckin time to not show sex... Granted they were planted on those days but they all sprouted within 2-3 days of germinating/planting the seeds...

I'm not really concerned but I'm just letting you know its not just you...

thanks. good to know im not the only one.

had one of my chosen females actually be a male in the flower room
i still have 3 plants at 11 days still not sexed. yea and i topped them also, so even with a 10x its difficult to say boy or girl. they are still in 1 gal with liquid nuts. if they dont show tonight, i am going to transplant into 3 gals and hope that helps. they are way too big for 1 gal now.

thanks. ended up with 7 girls and 7 males
keeping one boy for seeds. Quantium kush x pandoras box, screwdriver or Quantium Kush. or all three???

2 of my chosen girls ended up being boys.

and yes all the crab claws were males.
