Prepping for Flower

Hi everyone. First grow here. The plants are looking great and this forum has been extremely helpful. I just hit 4 full weeks in veg (after 2 full weeks in seedling) and I'm ready to transition to flower. Any recommendations regarding prep before I start 12/12? Some people say to prune, some say to lollipop, some say to give nutes, some say to do 16/8 then 14/10 then 12/12.

Keep using veg nutes aswell for the first week, still will need some nitrogen

This ^ they will still need nitrogen for the first 2/3 weeks of flower. You can half and half mix your nutes if you want, up the cal mag.
Tuck leaves out of the way if you can vs pruning. The general rule is to only pull 20/30% of leaves. Maybe split that into two sessions 3 days apart? I defoliated the piss out of mine before flipping and they were fine but depends on the health and growth rate of your plants I think..

i keep feeding veg nutes till i start to see white hairs popping up, then i'll switch to bloom nutes over a week, give half veg nutes, half bloom for a couple of waterings. i also start adding a little more epsom salts during flower, sulfur is massively important at that point

Yes lollipop them and train them. If the plant is healthy it is really resiliant and can take the pruning and popping. Sometimes i will transplant, pop and prune all in one sitting..plant never misses a beat. And if during flower i see the main stalk shoot up tall ...i will wack it off . Still wont hurt it..the energy will go to the next top you just made.

I like how this sounds as I started feeding bloom nutes this past watering and pistils showed up a couple days ago. There's still a decent amount of Veg nute in the soil mix

Hey everyone - I pruned today. Should I wait a little before I transition to 12/12 to let them recover? Or should I just make the change tonight?

Looks good after the prune. They seem healthy I'd just flip em, they'll be just fine. Maybe a tiny bit of water in each pot just to put smiles on their faces ha. Maybe tie down some of the bigger tops if you can to even everything out but other than that looks good!

Thanks. I appreciate it. I tried to be very conservative. Should I leave the big lower fan leaves that I put red dots on? I know different people have different opinions on that.

People do have different opinions. I'll let someone more experienced chime in but I defoliated before flower and I'm going to again at around 3weeks. My ladies are flat and bushy haha. I watched this last night. Good watch after a bowl rip
Look up trimming and pruning. Gather opinions, judge the health of your plants and make a choice based on all of it

Thanks for the reply. All 3 plants have 4 large bottom leaves. I decided to take the lowest 2 leaves off each one. I switch to flower tomorrow, so I plan on giving it 10 days or so to recover and continue growing and then do a final little prune.

Sounds good. They won't need ten days to recover. 2 days most and probably only a day to recover after a small pruning. When you prune wait till a watering is due. Pull the leaves and shoots you'd like, then water or feed, and they won't miss a beat.

Photos are my one lady. Then the fan leaf pile from pruning both
Then the two after prune. Lots of air flow and light
Then I pulled all the lower tiny shoots below the canopy before flipping to flower a week or so later
And then another week later (start of week 2 flower)

They didn't fuss one bit on any of the prunings. And the first fan leaf prune I pulled A LOT. For sure close to 30% of the leaves from each plant haha.
I'll definitely prune one more time in a week and then let them go!

Really depends on your space/air circulation, and the type of lights you have (I'm running cfl so I don't have the canopy penetration to get to the lower shoots)
