Can anyone help me decide how many BTU's of mini split I need on a 4000 watt op? Also can anyone recommend a good co2 generator? I need both and really soon.

Alright guys I am getting her figured out. I found a 24,000 BTU mini split system on Amazon made by Pioneer Air, somewhere around $1,300. I have done lots of research and found this unit to be very effective and durable. It has very high ratings and the reviews are great, also an affordable piece which is a great thing. I have found that the recommend BTU per 1000w bulb is somewhere between 4,000 and 5,000 BTU,s. But I plan on in the future upgrading my lighting so this way I will have the cooling power I need already in place. I take into consideration also the co2 burner will put out heat and I will also likely run open hoods. As long as I can fit my outdoor unit piece in the lung room (hallway) and it fits there well then I am happy. I will likely go with a titan controls propane 4 burner.

The dreaded two spotted spider more was found on a gg4 back in the corner of my flower room. They were really just localized on that one plant. I seen a couple on the neighboring plant, however the one glue they were on, their was several, some webbing.

I sit two hot shot no pest strips below the plants lastnight before lights off.i have not checked up on the room since but plan on doing so in a few mins. The strips had been opened for about 3 months and stored in mason jars. They lose their efficiency and potency around 4 months. Hopefully my storage idea worked well and kept most of the gas in the jars.

I have done tons of research on Dichlorvos "DDVP" gas and although it is very toxic, it is not carcinogic, cannot be absorbed into the plants and will dissipate/evaporate from the area rather quickly after removed or resealed.
It is also used in food crops and applied in tobacco warehouses, grain storage, etc.

When I return to the room I am going to immediately seal the strips and give it an hour or so to air out and then once it has aired out I will check and see if I recognize any movement of the mites during inspection.

My luck lately has been shit.:wall: Nothing less, nothing more. If the mites are still alive, I am taking a trip to the store immediately and purchasing two new strips and sitting in the room.

My room is ventilated, however during lights off I set the thermostat to 80 degrees and I doubt it kicked on but maybe just once, if any at all, so the gas has had its time to take effect.

In my experience the strips work well. Back when the plants were small and sickly before I flowered them out, some of you may have remembered that I had found a few spider mites on the fan leaves of also another gg4 (thinking it's obvious that they love this strain for whatever reason more so than the others). Well after I had found them I placed one strip in the room overnight, to my return they were all completely lifeless and dead in place. Not had one return in over 2 months. So the stuff has to work although this colony is wayyyyyy larger in numbers, could make a difference...

Anyway, sorry for the rant and my will to talk on, but these mites make me furious! :cuss::fire:...

I think about nothing else but slaying them quickly and harshly. They will pay for what they have done to my girls and for trespassing into the Psychs Laboratory. That was it, the day they played Russian Roulette Kamakazi with one man that will absolutely not deal with their behavior. Fuck yourself, you two-spotted nasty bastards!

Ha ha using cold is cheating ;)
Yeah yeah lol. It' still a natural process, I usually don't worry about any coloring in my buds anyway, but if the genetics have a purpling present in the lineage, it sure helps to bring it out. I have left some strains out to the end of November, first week in September and all it did was burn the shit out of the leaves lol. Did not color the buds at all, so I really believe it is up to wether or not the plant has purple in its lineage.

Here are a few very low quality photos of the mites, just placed my camera lens on my phone onto the microscope lens and took a few photos.

I plucked 6 really infested leaves off and brought inside under a light and watched them all closely for movement. They were ALL still and lifeless. One and I mean literally only ONE of the adults, particularly that orange one in the photo twitched it's leg for a second and that' all I seen. So I guess the hot shot no pest strip is still active and working like I hoped it would work.

These things are life savers if used correctly and must be used safely. You must have knowledge of DDVP and do your research first before even attempting to use them. I have seen people fight this issue on a daily for months on end and only succeed in nothing more than just keeping the colony down. These things will wipe them out within hours, every single one. The eggs don't have a chance either. No sprays, No heat, no plant damage, just straight up dead mites. This stuff is the Nuke in the arsenal of all insecticides...

I don't fuck around with mites.
The last time I got mites, i bought a bottle of Forbid 4F sprayed plants 2 times and i completely eradicated them. You wont be disappointed with the results. This stuff really works.

Being that your already flowering sucks for treatment. I would try and control them until your done flowering and then spray quarantined plants and completely sterilize your room.

I would use it in veg, but no way in flower. Alcohol is a good way to really dissolve your trichs and all the good stuff within it.

I know it is diluted and all but still I wouldn' chance that. I could see it working excellent in early flower or in veg though.
I hear that but if i had to chose i fucking hate mites lol

But i try to correct it if it bappens in veg.

How far in flower are they again? If its less then halfway id spray with the alcohol so you wont have any pesticide residues.

I used to use some toxic shit

My
Miothialon ? Bad stuff makes your room smell like diesel lol

I much prefer the alcohol method nowadays

Just make sure to treat when lights are off!

I know I'm a little late to this journal, but super nice build out, man! Sorry to hear about the bug situation though :(

How long ago did you send into flower? You might be good to use a bit of evergreen on them. It's a Pyrethrum concentrate so definitely be careful. I've sprayed 3 weeks before a harvest before (REALLY didn't want to) and it eradicated the aphids entirely. Stuff works wonders, you just don't want it on your bud lol.
I know aphids are easier to rid than mites, but I would imagine it works well on mites too!

Side note, I almost always give my girls a good Azamax dip before putting them into veg. That usually keeps any pests away.
